OK, there were 8 of us off to Ewood park tonight. Me, my bro, mum and dad and then a teacher from my brothers school (who got us the tickets) 2 friends of his and his son. All in all, 6 Liverpool fans and 2 Blackburn fans The traffic was pretty bad all the way there even though the ground was only more than half full. We got there just in time, about 7:55 for the 8pm kick off.
We were sat in the home end (tsk tsk) so I had to try and restrain myself because we could of got kicked out! They never mix football fans, far too dangerous! Anyway, where we were sat was right at side of the home stand, right next to all the Liverpool fans. Now I know they are a crazy bunch! They travel in their 1000's, their team is their life. So they were singing and ridiculing the Blackburn fans all the way through. It was hilarious and I was dying to laugh!
So the teams came out and we were defending the goal nearest to where we were sat. This meant I could see Sami pretty well ;D It gets underway and for the first maybe 20 mins it's pretty dull to be honest. But then Sami gets elbowed in the face by Yorke (my dad says it was Cole lol) and he goes mad! He's so funny when he gets angry and he was yelling at Yorke lol. Then, Yorke goes and scores to make it 1-0. Sinama-Pongolle wins a penalty not long after and Murphy scores it. It looked a dubious penalty and even on the replay, but it you look hard it definately was. The guy who fouled Pongolle got sent off (I didn't even realise until maybe 10 mins later :red: I wasn't exactly watching him!) and at half time it was 1-1.
2nd half and they've taken Sami off I did see him rubbing his leg though in the 1st half so thats probably why. But they put Kewell on too so I was happy about that ;D So, we go ahead thanks to a Heskey header and then he scores another header to make it 3-1. He's not known for his great goalscoring record despite being a striker so when Kewell won another penalty all the Liverpool fans were cheering for him so he could get his hatrick. I knew he'd miss He missed plenty of other chances too. But Harry scored! I was happy to witness that! So it was 4-1 to us but Blackburn pulled back 2 goals right at the end! So it was a great game to go and watch!
Michael Owen didn't play and neither did Dudek but I did see him warming up. At one point, he turned aroud and looked into the stand where I was. I was soooo tempted to stand up and give him the thumbs up or something! but in the end I decided not too!
so, it was a great evening and a great match to pick!
