Uh-oh!
"Padraig Harrington's hopes of winning a third straight major likely ended at the par-5 second hole. The Irishman took a quadruple-bogey 9."

McIlroy was nearly defaulted for kicking sand in a bunker. Kids. One of my Irish buddies thinks there is a conspiracy due to that + Harrington's wind. Paddy

Haha, Tiger blew the shortest putt. Ended up with another bogey! I love it.

hahahahahahahahaha Tigre's grumpy!!!!
Male golfers, as a rule = women's tennis players when it comes to being overly large in the stomach area.

Ick, I really don't want Kenny Perry to win! But I don't want Chad or Angel (or Tigre or Manboobs) to win either!

The announcers said that since no one in the lead has ever won the Masters before, they could all falter and Tigre could still win!1!1!!!!11!!!!
All I can say is, this had better not happen. Now I'm rooting for Jim Furyk to seize the day, because he's local.
I have Wagner's super-intense "Die Walküre" live from the Met on the radio, and oeverweight yuppies playing golf on my tv. It's a really odd combo.

Kenny and Chad aren't yuppies, they're good ol' southern conservatives.
Go Kenny.

BOOO! Birdie for Tigre. Kenny and Chad are good ol' southern conservative rich yuppies. But actually I wouldn't mind one of them winning. That'd be better than watching them choke away their leads on Sunday. As it is they aren't doing anything to put more distance between themselves and the crowd; they must both be playing too conservatively out of fear, which is a mistake you see lots of guys make when they take an unaccustomed lead in a major.

They've actually separated from the field a ton thus far. There were 12 players within 4 shots at the start of the day. Now there's 3.

That is because of the poor play of the others rather than anything WOW from them. But mainly, they're letting Tiger get too close! They need more birdies to give me a better comfort zone for Sunday.

Does anyone here have a high-def tv? I'm wondering if you can get a better feel for all these slopes and inclines. On my tv the ground usually looks falsely flat.

My dad says no matter what, you just can't tell just how much these greens undulate are unless you're there, in person.
Which he's never been.
But hey.

Oh, okay. I thought maybe Hi-def tv's would reveal the secrets of this course. They sure cost enough. Tiger is in 9th place now! By the end of today he may be in the top 4 or 5. He's really not a good athlete to hate.

At least he's hot now, if he keeps his hat on. And his mouth shut. And doesn't win.

But, Augusta in HD is glorious. Burley's dad is correct that elevation is much more visible in person. And that's for all golf courses. Eldrick and Manboobs are probably too far back. The course is playing easy enough where at least one of the top 7 has to shoot in the 60s.

I'm disappointed to learn that about HD tv; I guess I imagined that suddenly the real contours of the courses would spring to life.
So Angel ended up tied for first! Save us, Angel. Win a green jacket for Argentina!

Out of the final two groups, I'm rooting for Furyk.
I would prefer Katayama or Sabbatini to shoot lights out and do it.
And if someone from -4 has to do it, hopefully it will be anybody who isn't Tigre or MB McGee. Poulter would be my ultimate preference overall.

Poor Perry. I feel bad when old guys can't quite get it done, since it's their last chance. Though I'm happy for fat Spanish-speaking Cabrera to win. I guess the PGA has no English-language rule like the LPGA tried to implement last year. :ass:

Kenny will make a killing on the Geezer Tour in 18 months if he chooses to. I don't feel too bad for him.
Eldrick was really a sore loser today. Swearing tons, and was very curt in his interview. But, hating Phil is understandable.

I do remember The Cat being very angry that couldn't speak English when he won the US Open, and I remember the rest of us laughing about it. I wasn't that angry. But I am angry that Perry without a bogey all day bogey's 17 and 18 and then loses in a playoff. Amazing. I did not think Perry would fold under pressure but he did. I was hoping he would win for his ailing parents but he spit the bit. Perry just missed that winning put on the 72nd hole. Wow it was so close to going in. And all Phil Mickelson had to do was back up his incredible front nine 30 with a fine back nine 34 and he would have been in a 4 way playoff. But Phil missed easu birdie putts on 15 and 17 to elimiante himself from title convestion. But I did enjoy seeing Mickelson get the best of Woods today. But that's small consolation to me because Mickelson came up small when on the 15th hole he had a short birdie putt to tie Perry but blew it.. Congrats to Cabrera on winning in the playoff. It looked like he was in trouble near a tree on the first playoff hole. But he recovered and stayed solid and let the pressure take it's toll on Perry. Somtimes it's hard being a sports fan and invest yourself in following an event and then those you root for come up small. Kenny Perry seems like a regular guy like Rocco Mediate who almost won the U.S. Open last year. They both are playing their best goldf in their late 40's and that's quite surprising but nice to see, The difference between perry's run at the 2009 Masters and Mediate's run at the 2008 U.S. Open is that Rocco did not lose to Tiger Woods he was beaten in great drama in by fine play from Woods. But today I got the feeling Perry lost it more than Cabrera won it. P.S. - I read in a recent issue of ESPN The Magazine that Michelle Wie still wants to play with the men. LOL she can barely play with the women. Will she ever get it?

Michelle Wie or her handlers or whoever need to shut up if they have any hope of bringing this running joke to a halt.
Regardless, yay for the Argentine. When I checked the leaderboard on my way out he was third and I had hope.

Michelle and Daddy are taking this joke to the bank. How long they can keep it up, I don't know. The usual media sources that slurp her are finally starting to stop it.
As a golf fan, it disappoints me seeing Michelle ruin her career. But, from the Wie family's view, I can't blame them. Michelle being a sideshow with the guys has earned her more money than if she even turned into the next Annika or Lorena on the LPGA. Hopefully, she'll accomplish both over time.

The Wie's days of holding up company's for big money are over as is the desire of the average golf fan to see this one time phenom play golf with men. If Wie became a top LPGA player there might be some renewed interest in seeing her play with the men. But there's no need for that now because she can't even play with the women at this point in her career. Talk about her parents who mismanaged Michelle's career from the getgo. That is where most of the blame should be.

Just saw this headline; I am not making this up:
Tiger Woods Arrives at Masters with 90 Bodyguards
Because, you know, that porn star could break through a squad of just 70 or 80!
What a circus this is going to be ...
