Golly, not another miracle cure? When the world is still on its knees from the last bunch of them? But yes, it's true: Kim's alleged "at least 8 weeks" off the Tour due to her latest near-death experience on court has suddenly been reduced to, like, one or two weeks! Forget Lourdes, people; run touch Kim! "Brussels February 4, 2006 - 10:17AM World number one Kim Clijsters could return from injury in time to play in her home tournament in Antwerp starting on February 13."

Yeah. I called this about 5 minutes after the sprained ankle, and people thought I was wrong.

"Of course I would love to play in Antwerp and I have repeatedly stated how fantastic it is to play for a home audience. And yes, I secretly hope to be there, but then the recovery has to be a 200% success. I can only start training in ten days the earliest, but I reckon that should be not that bad. I've only been out of competition for three weeks. I won't be taking any big risks, but I'm willing to take my chances for the Proximus Diamond Games, provided the doctors give ma a go ahead."
Oh, Kim is so amazing.

So she retired from her semifinal and she wasn't even that hurt.
Doesn't she know it was AMELIE'S MOMENT??!?!!?!?!?

Good that Kim's health may not be as bad as first thought.

I don't mean to pour on the Kim hate here... but, this is seriously ridiculous.
If she had torn ligaments in her ankle, as was diagnosed, and it's basically impossible to incorrectly diagnose that... there is 0% chance, no possible way in hell, a doctor would let her go back to playing tennis in 2 weeks... let alone, probably even walking on it. And not because of the pain... she can easily break bones in the rest of her foot, and problems with blood flow.

I'm not actually sure why Kim gets all the hate. Justine has all these fans around here who look the other way with her professional dishonesty or at the very least overlook it. But they are vociferous about Clijsters ... returning sooner from injury than previously indicated? What/who has that affected, precisely? Has that compromised the integrity of any matches thus far? How many of you know the ins and outs of her medical situation? How many of you are aware that what she says about her health is filtered by a media hungry for concrete numbers? Once again, why should we care either way? As far as I know, there isn't any reason to complain about Kim's professionalism. You can't say that about Justine. Who is the bad guy here?

You seem to forget that Justine's "professional dishonesty" is just an opinion, not a fact. An opinion I don't share, and I'm not alone.
You also seem to forget that Kim has repeatedly overdramatized the severity of one injury after another recently. Each time, I always fall for it, including this time. Never again. If Kim says her leg is broken, from now on I will expect to see her back in action within 3 weeks max.
Kim could have just said all along that she had an ankle sprain. That is the usual name for a stretched or a partially torn ankle ligament, but it sounds sort of mild to most people, so she went for the dramatic "TORN LIGAMENT!!" Enough is enough with these dramatics.

What do I know? I know that I'm tired of getting duped again and again by a player with minor injuries which are publicly announced to be severe to catastrophic. It doesn't annoy you, but it does annoy me; it's just a matter of personal taste. Now if I had had the smarts to be as skeptical as Leena and Chloe are when they hear about a new Kim injury, then I'd probably just laugh or shrug, but I've been suckered in by these sad tales of medical woe time and again. Never again.
As for the quotes, the article had them straight from Kim's own web site.

You aren't privy to what she's being told, nor are you there when she repeats it to the media. Once again, has it compromised the integrity of any matches you know of? Can you claim the same for Justine's "unprofessionalism" even if you believe it doesn't exist?

I don't know why Kim and her people constantly pull this crap. The only reasons I can think of are 1) to get attention, and 2) an excuse for losing. But, I'm sure Kim knows that she's going to win... as the many times she's threatened not to play, then beats some scrub 6-2 6-0. Now, the cynical bitch in me knows that someone who pretends to be so nice like Kim, only does so for attention. So, it all makes sense to me. But, I shant force my twisted negativity on others.

This routine has backfired in her face before. Maybe it will happen again. What "routine", how has it "backfired"? "Oh, the injury is career ending!" - Kim, Kim's camp, somebody that has nothing to do with Kim "Oh, the injury is not career ending! See you next week!" "Oh, another career ending injury! "

"Oh, another career ending injury! " Where is the backfiring? If it is a "routine", it must have some sort of purpose to it. So what is her nefarious purpose? What is she gaining? Is it affecting the integrity of the tennis matches she plays?

Yeah, you'd think people who hate it when people repeat the same things over and over because they've made their point wouldn't, you know, resort to that exact tactic when they aren't getting their way. But, then again, some people are 4.

But, then again, some people are 4. I wouldn't have to repeat myself if anyone had really answered me to the fullest. Unlike you, I'm not doing it to be condescending (which doesn't become you). Also unlike you, I'm not doing it because I don't actually have a point.

I never had a point in this thread because I don't care enough to make a valid one. I did make some jokes, which were hilarious! I rulez.
No one has to answer you, because no one owes you an answer. So keep railing the same sentence at the walls. It sounds fun; I should try it sometime.
