Henman opts against warm-up event Tim Henman will not play a warm-up tournament ahead of the Australian Open in January. The 32-year-old Briton plans to spend more time with his family and also allow a knee injury to heal completely. "Usually I play a tournament before the Open but this year I decided to spend a little longer at home with my family before hitting the road again. "And it will also give me a bit of extra time to make sure my knee is fully recovered before I start." Henman picked up the injury to his right knee at the end of the season but he came through a charity game with Mark Philippoussis earlier this month. "It's about 85% at the moment but it's proving a bit stubborn and it's not quite fully healed yet," said Henman. "Obviously that's my priority and I'm working hard on it at the moment."

Ack, yucky draw for Kolya. He'll probably lose to Malisse. Nadal-Kendrick rematch. I expect it to be close again, also... Poor Baghdatis already guaranteed to lose 450 points.

This may be the first time ever I'm looking more forward to the men's side of a Salami. Some really intriguing matches should occur right from Day 1.

Dancevic should at least hold true to his recent pattern of winning a match per tournament -- the word on the streets of Bucharest is that Hanescu has not yet completely recovered his strength after a car accident

Tough break for Marcos. Blake-Moya could be fun! I just realized it's been 10 years since Carlos' final. I was stunned when he beat Chang in the semifinals (if memory serves me right). I feel so old, now.

Q. Bit of a scare in Sydney the other day. How is the injury? MARCOS BAGHDATIS: Fine, fine. Very good.
Q. Did you think you were in trouble there or did you know you just tweaked it? MARCOS BAGHDATIS: I was scared a bit in the beginning. Then seeing myself getting through, the pain was slowly, slowly disappearing, I felt better.
Q. Have you had treatment on it since? MARCOS BAGHDATIS: Yeah, I had treatment after the match against Carlos, coming here. It's much better now. Nothing to worry.
