Did anyone happen to see Aravane Rezai play, and if so, what were your impressions? Many thanks in advance.

Stani breaks for 4-3 Yes, best of luck to ToJo & Juan Carlos! Two players that will most definitely be ignored by ESPN

Did anyone happen to see Aravane Rezai play, and if so, what were your impressions? Many thanks in advance. I saw her vs Sharapova. She has a big game but is quite inconsistent. A couple of times in both sets she either had the break advantage vs Sharapova or got the break back. Very fiesty. Hits the ball hard, and thus makes a lot of errors. Two-handed backhand. She definitely gave Sharapova more of a match than anybody expected.

It has its advantages and apart from Jarkko it's dog time for me and they don't have his match on court, so I can see what I missed from last night.
Stani has some way to go, but he is in the top 100 now and that is something. Seppi must be kicking himself losing in the 2nd round of qualies, with all the LLs making the main draw.

I have decided I am going to follow some WTA players. Oh, do tell! Actually I am not that limited as I like to make out and I am aware of a few of them. I have strict criteria, they either have to have a big rack, play a game I like or aren't considered attractive.

Oh for God's sake. Stani serves two double faults to bring up break points when serving for the set.
And of course gets broken.

Thanks Hack. She has had some very interesting ITF results and, apparently, one of the worst tennis dads around.

How shallow. I select my ATP favorites the same way. (Apart from the rack of course) but who doesn't.

Yep, I think GWH has them all covered with those criteria...
Pity for Stan, wasting chances in both sets. Mind you, I'm looking forward to the prospect of Blake v Puerta on clay; I remember Blake's fruitless battle with Coria in Monte Carlo a couple of years ago, it was an entertaining contest even though he was completely outclassed at times. Of course, if it happens it'll be on an outside court anyway....

JC 3-1 Good start for him. Antonella Serra Zanetti hasn't won a game vs Golovin yet. The French crowd must be going wild.

Jarkko heading for a third set TB.

Here are the WTA players I don't mind
Kuznetsova, The Cheetah, Schynder, Dechy, Dementieva ( the legs make up for the serve), Sesil

BTW, for those who missed the H-H match, a routine scoreline but it was in doubt right to the end because of her back injury - it hindered her serve completely, she served 8 DFs and had a first serve percentage in the 30s. She was able to get through largely because Ruano Pascual lacked the belief to beat her and handed her a lot of errors at crucial points, but as my commentators were saying, she'll be toast against better players in the next rounds if she can't get proper treatment for her back.

I would agree with most of those picks, George. Schnyder was very impressive yesterday, weak opposition it's true but she still manouevred the ball around beautifully. Kuznetsova has a forehand that a lot of ATP players would be proud of, it's ridiculously powerful.

LOL, I'll bet Clement and Kiefer are having fun out on Chatrier - their games may be completely different, but both of them must be thinking, "Please court, give me some pace!"

Sveta has the rack, she is not a glamour girl and can play a game that I like, just hope she can step up and as for Schynder she is a strange one and I love the game, so it makes sense.
I just hope Chucho can do the business today.

That's a match of who do I want to lose less. Clement cause he is a rude midget to ballboys and thinks he is greater than he is or Kiefer, because of Neely and the double standards speeches when she does the same. I'll go for Kiefer, because Hogstedt a Swede is his coach.

The Kucera wannabe is back on serve...
Apparently everyone's favourite analyst Brad Gilbert said on ESPN that Acasuso has a weak serve for someone his height. The RG website says he has a booming serve and crunching forehand, so one of 'em must be right. Just about the last time I saw him play was against Federer at the US Open, and he was regularly hitting first serves around the 130mph mark.

[quote The Cheetah? LOL, isn't Sesil a bit young for you? Conchita Martinez is the Cheetah. One because of her name and two because of her speed around the court. I love the game plenty of variation and a few moonballs. Sesil, she doesn't like Screamarova and that is good enough for me.

That's what she talked about during her ESPN interview, and she said she's going to rest it and get her treatment. I saw her play a couple of points as I was drifting in and out of consciousness. They are showing Mauresmo now. Her opponent, Cornet, is 15 years old and definitely looks like it
