I mourned on the lunatic gaze thread, I don't want to overmourn.

Oh! I did not know such a thread exists! Elena and Akiko really stinking up the joint, so say the stats. Akiko is 1 for 13 on BPs. They've both got twice as many errors as winners. Lovely stuff!

They showed Coria watching the match, sitting in the aisles because the stadium is so packed out.
Gasquet just can't get past Nadal's sheer power. Nadal is really not my cup of tea; he's impressive but he has very little variety as compared to someone like Gasquet or Federer. I like a little more finesse.

Gasquet breaks back in the second set. He reminds me a bit of Federer's emergence on the tour: flashes of brillance but he hasn't put it all together yet. There's something to be said for consistency

Feds is chatting with Brad Gilbert & Chris Fowler. Wonder how he'll comment on the Nadal-Gasquet match.
Gasquet is finally imposing his game on Nadal.

There's something to be said for consistency yes, maybe he is a year away from putting it all together. He's come to this point SO suddenly this month after those teen years of frustration.

I don't know WTF that was but Gasquet suddenly was off the beam. Too bad.
I'm having a hard time seeing how he had Nadal on the ropes in Monte Carlo. Unless it has something to do with the weather and the heat.

He'll just have to break again!

To do that he'd have to play some of those brilliant points in a row. And he just can't quite compete with Nadal's sheer power and weight of shot.

Ahoj Brainy I wish I could see that match. I enjoy Mats commentary, so fresh compared with some repetative old farts from the regular Eurosport team. Yes Chris, I'm talking about you, goat!

Richie's backhand volley is nice, but the forehand volley blows.
