Hmmm what can I say it's a makeable draw for the swiss.
Just to bad Michel has to open against Schüttler oh well Michel just show your best.
Good luck to Roger, Michel (too bad you two are in the same quarter...) and Marc

Why couldn't Nadal have drawn Costa?! oh well, at least he's playing lol.
Ferrero will go out in round two, but that's okay. At least he'll lose to a good player.

This draw is depressing. My 5 favorites, all on the top half, Guga, Lleyton, Roger, Mario and Andy!!!!!! Omigod, this sucks... anyway, from a certain angle, it's very good because I know atleast one or two of them will go far. They must!! Because me liking you is a good omen. Look what happened to Kim's career, aaaaaaah

Haha!! Maybe Rafael will have his surprise breakthrough here, ya never know! Well, I know nothing of how he plays on grass. I know he made the junior semis last year, but that really doesn't tell us very much. I do wish he'd draw a slower court player... like oh, Costa! Or a Brit Wild Card would have done nicely too. I think Ancic will win, based on him being best on faster surfaces, and having won their last encouter rather easily (indoor carpet challenger final, 2 and 3 or something like that). But I can hope ;D

I'm amazed Wayne Ferreira's down to play - when he got stretchered off against Schuettler at the FO the comms were thinking he might never play again, let alone play Wimbledon in a couple of weeks! Mind you, I never heard anything after that so maybe it just LOOKED terrible.
Anyone got any thoughts on how Coria might do, btw? I can only find one grasscourt outing for him - lost in 5 to Meligeni, Wimby 2001 - but that's more or less ancient history considering his progress of late. When I'm in the right mood I can convince myself he could do quite well: great speed, bit of zip on the groundies, doesn't faint if he has to come to the net. The serve's no big weapon, but he gets a high percentage of first in, and he's a pretty good returner.
Chance of doing some damage, maybe?

I'd love to see him win a few rounds at Wimbledon. Hey, if David can do it...

Hmmm...if all the claycourt guys are thinking that then maybe we'd better look out for the Coria-Corretja Gaudio-Costa semi's But I would like to see Coria make something of a name for himself at Wimbledon. No disrespect to the Wimby crowds but I doubt if news of him has spread to SW19 quite yet - bet half of them will think they're off to Court17 or wherever to see COURIER making a comeback!

I can see it now...all the older women who have dressed up all posh just to eat strawberries and watch their tennis gasping at each other "did you hear about COURIER's comeback? Yes, he plays on court 17 today. A MUST see!".... "my has Courier aged well!"...etc etc I could write along amusing dialogue, but it's been a long day

Re: Rafael Nadal's chances, have just been reading an article on Marca.com that says because of the elbow injury he's still having to train hitting the backhand with one hand only, which doesn't sound too good. Also, he's preparing on clay which isn't ideal either! This could be a breeze for Mario by the sound of it. link to the article (in Spanish) if anyone wants to read it:- www.marca.com/edicion/noticia/0,2458,309371,00.html

I heard about this last night, and was not exacrly surprised. Seeing as he didn't bother to play an warmups, I figured there was no way he was 100%. Hopefully it isn't too bad

As for him training on clay... well that would make it appear obvious that he's targetting the tournaments AFTER Wimbledon

Probably pointless mentioning this since all will be revealed tomorrow when the tournament gets under way ;D but I was just reading a short article about Coria who's been training at Wimby the last couple of days (steady Gui - don't overdo that grasscourt practice! )and he thinks the courts are slower than when he played there in 2001 and that he'll be able to stay back and play from the baseline quite happily. From that, it sounds like they haven't changed the much-maligned conditions of last year, although I can hardly believe it after the stink that was raised - all those serve-volley champions of yesteryear frothing at the mouth because two baseliners made it to a Wimbledon final! Are we in for a repeat, I wonder?

I don't know where people are cheering or writing about the men's matches at Wimbledon. I assume here.
I was thrilled with the wins of Roddick and Nadal!!!
Wooo hooo.. Those were great! I always love seeing Greg lose and having Andy hand him the loss was terrific. Lots of good stuff today on the TV. So much better than Roland Garros. Federer! Woo hoo. And also ..... Paradorn! what a courageous comeback for him.
