O.K That's it!!
So much about the easy draw Roger had.....
.....darn somehow I knew that this Horna guy is dangerous.....
...but I bet Roger wasn't able to control himself.
At least he doesn't loose many points......
.... and he won more games than last year so it really only can get better!!!

Alright for you Mr Federer! Now on to Alex! VAMOS! He's serving crap, but he's grittily battled his way back on serve after being down 03!

Well 1 down 5 to go! nah Horna was good he was certainly hammering in those serves and forehands. This is gonna take him a long time to get over.

oops, spoke too soon--Alex just got broken again! What's with these guys? Look at JuJu--she got broken in her first game and came back to win the first set.

82 unforced errors. Poor Roger. Why must he always underachieve in Slams? Sorry guys, I know this must really suck for you. Just stay positive for Wimbledon where he will certainly be determined to do better.

Hi again Leo oh this does suck, it hurts! So now Im comfort eating! (Pringles ) every Slam though its always the saem, oh this must be Rogi's this year but hes never got past the 4th round yet and with 2 1st round exits at RG and 1 at Wimbly its disheartening. Already looking forward to Wimbly and Id rather he win that anyway

Really gutted for Roger.I didn't have coverage, but from the SB it looked like he had a lot of UE's. Sigh. I hope he can get over this quickly and maybe use the next few weeks to get as much grass practise as possible.Maybe that'll be better for Wimby? Sigh.

That's what I was thinking... go straight home and start practising in earnest and maybe get a wc for Rosmalen while he's at it. I worry about ROGI -- serious probs w pressure... worried about Wimby now too again! He s be downgraded to a smaller court there 1st rd... he can't take the pressure, he said it himself. So upset... trying to work and watch tennis... now Alex down 2 sets to 1... what a crap tournament so far... At least Carlos won. ROGI has just got to change sth drastically or he'll NEVER get past this huge stumbling block -- I hate to think how he's feeling now... humiliation. :-*Poor baby.

Even though I had a bad feeling I still can't believe he really lost. Gee he was soo close winning that first set!! Darn why why why couldn't he hold serve when it was most important!!
And then the TB in third. Gee he really should have won it too.....
.... darn darn darn

Rogi's interview is out so early Questions for Roger, please. Q. Do you think you could have done anything differently out there? Rogi: Well, not really, you know. He played a good game and I think I played a good game too. It just wasn't my destiny to win today. Q. You had about 8,000 UE's. How do you explain that? Rogi: Well, I just think I need to work on my game here and build up my confidence. I know I can play well on clay, but I haven't so far here. Q. How disappointed are you losing in the first round? Rogi: I'm a little disappointed, but really I'm very sad to leave because I know how popular I am. I know how much the people wanted to see me holding the trophy. Q. What do you think you have to work on to improve your game on clay? Rogi: Well, nothing. You know, I'm such a huge talent. Really. Ask anyone, they'll tell you. Q. Do you think about these early losses for a long time after the match? Rogi: No, not really. I forget matches quickly and can move on. I know I'll have many more chances in the future. Q. How do you feel about all the FedEx signs around? Rogi: I think it's great! It's so nice of the people to honor me in such a way. It makes me feel very special. I wish I could have them at every tournament. Q. So who do you think has a good chance at winning now, since you're out? Rogi: I would have to say any of the Spaniards, since they have more experience. Oh, all except Mantilla. His tennis is so boring. source: me sadness turned to anger and anger turned to that.

Hi Lily! I'm still so emotional it's interfering w my work... just as well Rogi's gone -- now I can concentrate on what's more important, although BORING! Rogi, what answers! Is he being just a little bit of a prima donna here or what?! Come on, Rogi, nobody will be holding up FedEx signs if you have that attitude... and don't win as well!! I'm surprised and disappointed at him... this can't be our Rogi talking, could it?? Pls no! Rogi needs some shaking up... maybe s send Lee in to spank him or sth?! I'll spank him... [well, he already got spanked badly!] saw him on the SUI news but didn't seem that upset just a bit incredulous as if it didn't really happen and was a bad dream... wish it was! oh... ROGI! all he had to do was win one little match, that's all! I am really worried for him now. SNAP OUT OF IT!

Funny you s mention the bad dream, cause thats what I feel sometimes about him in these big matches. Like they didnt really happen. But I want him to feel that they really happened so they wont happen again. He's such a dreamer! Could we all take turns spanking him? Like everyone else has said, theres always Wimby. Pls let there be Wimby! And Alex losing too! Some of the things he said were so sad to hear....just a very bad day.

Lily, that's good anger management you have there! Hopefully Guga will do better tomorrow but I really worry. I have premonition about Rogi yesterday when I posted here about vs Horna and I have the same premonition about Guga. It's really really scary!
RF, I don't think spanking will work but I threatened to strangle Kiefer today when he turned 2-0 sets to 2-2 and it seemed to work cos afterward, he had a 5-0 in 3rd set before he let his opponent crawled back to 5-3 before closing out the match.

You guys! Scaring me like that! Phew! I'm feeling vulnerable today -- funny, cos someone mentioned on wtaw that it must be that time of month for ROGI!! Ha ha! My sis said that when he lost Roma -- he's been hanging around Mirka too much! Come on, Rogi, it CAN'T be that time every week!! Anyway, I'm still fuming and now I'm feeling so badly for Rogi... what a baby he is! I went on a rant I know but I feel so strongly about this. I did read sth v fitting on wtaw can't remember which thread now! Starr said it and I agree. I wish we could all have a little session w Rogi and try to make him realize what's happened... show him sympathy but also give him solid "advice" if poss. Rogi's the one who needs the hugs. Is he playing dbles? So much talent and such a nice guy -- this s not be happening to him! Get this -- I taped a whopping 12 mns from 4-1/2 hrs of coverage today -- that says it all! I still can't bring myself to check the news... too painful. I'm afraid of how they'll criticize ROGI... Have to say sth on his board now but need to calm down a little more... Been burying myself in work! Thanks for all your comments, guys! Lee, we'll cheer for Guga tomorrow, surely he can't do any worse than Rogi... pls, someone else, crash out... preferably you-know-who... [now I'm being mean!]

Thanks for cheering Guga, RogiFan (don't want to call you RF since RileyFinn been quite dominating these days ) You're a great fan, still want to hug Roger and feel for him! Missing most part of today's TV coverage is no great lost! Yes, burying oneself at work is another good anger management!

It's tough, RogiFan! It also hurts with Alex's result but at least, the expectation is not high in the first place. For me, it's easier to swallow a loss if the expectation is not there.
I think Lundgren (?sp) need to do something about the mental part of Rogi's game. Rogi is still young and it's the coach's responsibility on trying to fix the mental part of the game! He needs to fix this part really quick because honestly, we don't want to see more Marat Safin head case here even Rogi has a totally different temperament.

He needs some TLC about now, don't you think? Yes, Lee, we've had many convos re: Rogi's mental, believe me! I think it's tough love time... never too late! To think Mrs. B. was almost going to go to RG this yr to cheer on Rogi?!! Just as well she didn't... now I'm thinking about Montreal... somebody good better be there and win! It's costing me a bundle!! [maybe I'll pop into the WTA in TO if I have time... I have SO much work it's enough to make you cry...] Yikes!

Prob write another fake interview but seriously, I really dont know. With Rogi I was expecting so much, you know, like making it to at least the 2nd rd! and w Guga, right now I dont expect anything, its more hope. oh yeah, that interview does sound like Guga. Funny how Rogi and Guga could sound so much alike when they're so different.

Its so painful seeing all the headlines...and he doesnt sound too upset about it. Thats whats maddening! Maybe he's upset in his own 'casual' way. What is PL telling him? (or not telling him) Someone over in wtaw said he needed to see a sports psych. I remember somewhere recently Rogi saying he saw one early on and then things got better. Well, it w prob do him some good to see one again. Theres just no more excuses. And today they were laughing at him. Saying how he's building on his 'wasted talent.' I never want Rogi to be laughed at again. I think that hurt more than the actual loss.

Lili even worse some ppl even booed well wistled when he left the court....
... if that's not the biggest slap in the face you can get??
Darn he knew there were tons of pressure on him again and he so badly wanted to do it better and turned it all into stupid UE's again....
....words are lacking here. Guess he'll hide now for a few days. That's what I would do... .... and then really try and do some mental training. Worst thing is really that now AA way is wide open again even Pandys grrrrr. And hope is little that one of the remaining swiss guys will be able to close the hole Roger left....
... lets just hope the same thing won't happen in about a month.......... geee I'm already getting nervous thinking about it.
Oh well live goes on and one can't change it anymore.
