RF, I'll try to add one, but I seem to have trouble choosing. I was just reading the Wimby articles. The Guardian is so funny! Antonio Banderas! lol so does that mean Rogi is the Swiss love god? "his steamy glare...hard-partying Playboy reputation to prove it." oh yeah, thats Rogi

Federer: Time to deliver
Two summers ago a young Swiss man beat the King of grass in his own back garden and electrified audiences with a style of play that mimicked the legendary master. But for all Roger Federer's talent, he goes into this year's Wimbledon searching for his first Grand Slam title...
The 21-year-old ended Pete Sampras’ 31-match winning streak on centre court in the fourth round at Wimbledon in 2001, but since his most famous career victory his record in majors has been appalling.
Two first round losses in two years at the French Open hasn’t done him any favours and a swift exit at Wimbledon last year against Mario Ancic of Croatia - playing in his first Grand Slam - accompanies only average performances at the Australian and US Open.
He certainly has the talent to win on the big stage, and will be keen to avoid following in the footsteps of other gifted underachievers like Australian Mark Philippoussis and Marcelo Rios of Chile.
GRAND SLAM JINX
He plays so well in the build-up tournaments but when it comes to a major for a player to simply rely on his talent alone is never enough.
One reason may be that the man who coached him through his formative years Peter Carter died in a car crash last year. Another point is that his relationship with new coach Swede Peter Lundgren may not be working out as planned after two years together.
Federer has won four titles so far this year in Marseille, Dubai, Munich and also on the grass courts of Halle. A finalist in Rome and his season so far may be deemed a success.
But will he peak where it matters most: at Wimbledon?
Looking at his draw Federer’s natural talent should see him through matches with Gustavo Kuerten of Brazil and American Todd Martin, as neither are the same players they once were.
Upon reaching the fourth round and quarterfinal stage, all competitors left in the draw will be sensing victory is within their grasp - and that goes for Federer too.
However, to go all the way in south London Federer needs to address some technical flaws in his game - the most notable of which is that he fails to get his head in the correct position on the point of impact on his grounstrokes. This, though, is a fault that is easily remedied.
Federer has such extraordinary ability that punters continue to put money on him in the major tournaments. You sense that one of these days, the bookmakers are going to end up paying out.
Seeded fourth for Wimbledon the Swiss star will face Hyung-Taik Lee of the Korean Republic in the first round. Follow that game and all the rest of the action from the All England club LIVE on eurosport.com, starting at 13:00cet on Monday.

Sue, quite a day you had! And so great you gave Rogi our messages and had a pic w him. Thats wonderful! I cant believe it. The big upset of the day and it wasnt Rogi! Well, we know about Croatian qualies dont we? The only bad thing is that they didnt show any of Rogi. As a matter of fact they didnt even mention him. It seems as if Rogi either gets laughed at or ignored. Well, thats ok, he just has to keep winning so we can see him. And if he can beat Koubek he'll play an Amer so that will def help.

I'm taping o/nite at 3.30am - 6am! Whatever that will be?? End of Rusedski match and what else? They're too fixated on Pandy to notice Rogi... but that's OK! Better to let Rogi quietly go thru each rd!! Come on, ROGI! Cheering like crazy for you!! Wonder what Rogi thinks of our messages?? Can't wait for Sue to post again! Sue, what do you look like in case we spot you?? Swiss flag right?? Up at 7am again...!! I wish I didn't have so much work as well... this is killing me and we're only 1 day into the tourney!! Pls someone shave the baldy! and Greg handle Pandy pls... be more efficient on Wed. Nite nite, Lily!! Dream of Rogi...

And they only showed Greg cause he plays Pandy next. I cant believe how into Gregs match they were. I thought I had tuned into some gossip show or sth. They were laughing and joking about everything in that match. And Brad Gilbert is so annoying. Makes sense as to why he and Pandy get along so well. Annoying + Annoying= yuck! I SO want Greg to do the same to Pandy as he did last year. So PLS everyone, cheer for Greg on Wed! I also prefer Rogi quietly go thru each rd. Like Juanqui did at RG. We didnt see him til he played Gonzo in the qtrs. We get 5am-7. Will we get the same thing? More Pandy or Greg? Geez! And whats w showing Hewitts match again! I didnt get that. The top half of the draw is so much more interesting. Rogi, Guga, Rafa, Paradorn...they could meet! I hope Rogi doesnt think we're all crazy...well, only crazy for him. nite RF....Rogi dreams

Hi again! Another quick report, though today should be a bit less hectic than yesterday..lol! Hoping to see Roger practice again today, though I don't want to be too greedy after yesterday. When I gave him the messages he was walking towards the practice curts carrying his racquets and Peter was just behind him,He was wearing a white T-shirt and shorts, very relaxed, his hair looked a little lighter...probably from the sun.I just walked up to him and said "Hi Roger,,,,and handed him the envelope andhe sort of looked puzzled ,,,then I said " they're just some good luck messages for you from some of us on your website" And then he broke into a huge smile (sigh) and said " Oh yeah? Great, thank you" And he unzipped his bag and .put it inThen I jsut wished him luc k for the match and he smiled again (sigh) and said Thanks. He practised with Todd Martin for just over half andhour.....ok, mytime onthis is runningout.....so I have to go...will try my best and post tomorrow...if not when I get bak as its our last day (sob). What do I look like?? Er...a quivering wreck near Roger! I didn't have the flag out yesterday...was too busy taing photos...I was in the front row, umpires side nearthe baseline to the right as you look at the chair,,,a friend phoned me to say she'd seen me on TV..but wit my camera stuck in front of my face

At Last, Federer Flies Monday, June 23, 2003 As Wimbledon reverberated with the aftershocks of Lleyton Hewitt's departure, those with an eye on the silverware took their chance to show off their credentials. Roger Federer has long been tipped for greatness. He has the sort of natural talent other players would pay good money for but has yet to live up to his billing at the Grand Slam tournaments. Today he overcame his first round hurdle at The Championships, beating Hyung-Taik Lee of South Korea 6-3, 6-3, 7-6 (7-2). Lee enjoyed his great moment of glory in 2000 when, as a qualifier, he marched into the fourth round of the US Open only to run slap bang into Pete Sampras. Emerging somewhat dented and bruised, he was sent on his way back to Korea and has never been quite the same since. Federer knows how that feels. Apart from one glorious fortnight two years ago when he reached the quarter-finals - he beat Sampras in the fourth round only to fall to a certain Timothy Henry Henman - he had not won a match at the All England Club. He has also lost in the first round of the French Open for the past two years. Wearing a shirt with mesh-covered holes up the side, presumably to let the steam out, Federer needed to keep his cool. Lee may not have set the world alight but he still has the ability to make even the flashiest of players look dull. There were moments when he would thread a return or a passing shot through the smallest of gaps. But at other times he would wallop a sitter into the net. Throughout all of this, Federer showed just why he is the fifth best player in the world and the No. 4 seed at this event. The forehands had power, placement and alarming disguise; the service provided 15 aces and, with them, free points; while there were times when his touch around the net defied belief. Federer's greatest weakness, though, lies between his ears. Unless everything in his game is working to perfection, he can be prone to moments of doubt and can unravel with astonishing speed. Today there was a brief moment of panic. With match points in his hand, he dropped his service. Over the next four games the match points came and went with monotonous regularity. Federer would put himself in a winning position, only to see Lee pull back with a mix of chutzpah and Swiss imprecision. Stumbling into the third set tiebreak, Federer found himself with five points to see him into the next round. He dropped the first but then, at last, he was through. Roger Federer - Day 1 Monday, June 23, 2003 Q. How was that as an introduction to this year's Wimbledon? ROGER FEDERER: You know, difficult first round, but I felt good today. You know, basically I'm happy to have made it in three because it got quite tight in the end. You know, a few extra grey ones earlier (smiling). But that's OK. Felt like I was playing well, so... Q. How conscious were you of what happened to Lleyton during the game? ROGER FEDERER: Well, I saw it before I walked on court, you know. How I felt last year, so... Q. You can empathise. Obviously makes a huge difference to your half of the draw. ROGER FEDERER: Yeah, well, maybe it does for you guys, yes. But I've got five matches to go til there. I think there is enough guys, you know, who can beat anyone right here, right now. So I'm not really worrying about not playing Lleyton in the semis, you know. Q. How confident are you in yourself, your own game? How do you feel coming into the tournament? ROGER FEDERER: I think it was important that I felt my way into a tournament. It was very difficult to serve and volley on the second serve, I had the feeling. Because, you know, the guys, they return well today. I don't know. I mean, I'm trying to hit my second serve harder than usual, and still they're returning well. I hope it's just him, you know (smiling). But it was good, you know, to also play from the baseline a little bit, get used to the harder courts, you know, the higher bounce. So it's good. Q. With Lleyton out of the tournament now, who do you consider your main threat? ROGER FEDERER: Well, you know, I don't know. I have an outside chance maybe now bigger. But I can't really focus about winning the tournament yet. The road is too long to go. But, you know, the favourites stay the same, except Lleyton is not the big favourite any more. Next to Agassi, you know, I don't know, other good players from the grass court. source www.wimbledon.org
