Well, lokon just reported in the Ferrero forum that Michel had the trainer out on court during his match yesterday. It appears he hurt his arm, which would explain that horrendous serving stat.
I hope its nothing serious because we need him in Davis Cup . . .

Apparently Michel cought the flue at the last tournament and is still taking antibiotika. Coming to Miami didn't help to get rid of it. So he wasn't a 100% fit.

There was a half hour feature on Martina Hingis yesterday at Eurosport, she wore a blue pullover which emphasized her blue eyes, she was sitting in her home near Zürich. Interesting to see that she's mellowed out and talks more sense now, than say, 2, 3 years ago.

To bad I missed that Martina Hingis report.
I've already noticed that she speaks better at her interview with swiss TV during the Ski-WM

And here's the blick translation: Daviscup Kratochvil out with a damaged Meniskus (sorry couldn't find the english word) Bern - Bad news for the Daviscup-Team: Michel Kratochvil has to withdraw due to a damaged Meniskus. The 23 year old Berner injured himself during his training wednesday on his knee. "I made a step to play a volley, and then it was cracking" Kratochvil to Blick Online. The diagnosis: The inside meniskus is teared! Tomorrow Friday Micha will have surgery in Bern. Herewith he won't be able to play the Daviscup quarterfinal tie against France (4. - 6. april) " I was so looking forward to this tie" sais the number 2 behind Roger Federer. "And now this. But I will accompain the team to Toulouse and support them." Kratochvil hopes to be able to start with the training in two weeks again and propably shortly after to join the circuit again. Yves Allegro will take Kratochvils spot in the Swiss Team. Who - besides Roger Federer - is going to play the singles in france has to be discussed. Ivo Heuberger, George Bastl and Allegro as well as "playing Captain" Marc Rosset could take the spot at the moment. Kratochvil made positive headlines lately in Daviscup and established himself as a teamsupport. Thanks to his final singles win against Martin Verkerk, the swiss advanced over Holland one and a half month ago. A rather disturbing piece of the article I just saw on WTAWorld, about Mirjana Lucic: She was barely 15 when she won her first WTA event. She was a 1999 Wimbledon semifinalist two years later, and seemed poised to become a tennis princess. Like Venus. Serena. Martina. Jelena. But there were injuries to her left knee and right shoulder in 2000, then to her right wrist in 2001. After tearing the meniscus in her knee, she didn't grip a racket for eight months. Depressed, she gained so much weight she became a one-shot player. A long shot. A "qualie." That's the same injury Michel has, apparently, but if he's out for 8 months . . .!

Hi found this on a site. I hope Michel recovers at the same rate... 'Recovery from a meniscus repair is comparatively quicker. It is common for a patient to be able to resume normal day-to-day activities in two to three days after a meniscectomy and low-impact sports in 2 to 3 weeks. Full participation in normal activities is usually possible at three weeks, however, it may take about 3 months for a full recovery. In cases where the injury was more severe, crutches may be needed briefly after surgery, and the doctor may recommend physical therapy. *whew* 3 weeks sounds much better than 8 months! Plus he'd be back for Nottingham and Wimbledon, where he has major points to defend (not a lot during the clay season). Get well soon, dear I already miss you

BTW Swiss Tennis is organising a supporter trip to Australia. Further details as soon as the Aussis tell where it will be held... Maybe some of you may want to keep 19. - 21.9. free Somehow I'd love to go but don't think my boss will let me go. And then it's a pretty long trip just for a weekend. You actually travel longer 4 days than the tie goes 3 days hehehe...

All right, ILR, here is the original set of questions we conspired to get Michel to answer. If you like one, send it in, or if you can think of one, cool I think that address is floating around here somewhere; maybe RF can post it again if we can't find it . . . 1. If you weren¡¦t playing tennis professionally, what would you be doing? (Going to university, etc.) 2. What is your favorite country? Why? 3. What is your favorite event to play? Do you like the atmosphere of prestige and excitement at the Grand Slams, or do you prefer playing in front of the home crowd? Do you like playing team events, like Davis Cup? Or do you have no preference? ƒº 4. What causes do you support? (Political, charity, etc) What are your political beliefs? 5. Would you say you¡¦re happier now, when you were 7, or when you were 14? 6. Do you enjoy giving interviews, or are they a necessary evil? (Yes, I realize the irony of this question.) 7. What are your goals for the 2003 season? 8. Who/What inspires you to play tennis? 9. What do you miss most about home when you¡¦re traveling? 10. Do you have a lot of friends on the tour, or are you mainly a competitor? 11. (From a Belgian fan): Do you know Xavier Malisse? I think we can strike this one for sure 12. Do you like being recognized on the street? 13. How do you prepare for a match? Do you have difficulty sleeping? Do you eat any special sort of food? Do you get up early to practice before a big match? 14. What do you do during rain delays? 15. How do you deal with the crowd, especially if they are cheering for you?

Well, considering I came up with the first set, anything from those would be good, but maybe some sound too grown up to come from an under-18? Something like "What is your favorite country and why" will probably win Or maybe #10.
