Well it wasn't really a swiss day....
First Marc lost to David 3:6 4:6 in Sopot
and then Ivo lost to baldy 3:6 1:6 ( some have it 2:6 2:6.) in Washington...
...and MGM had to retire against Petrova - haven't found out why yet!!
Well better luck to Michel, Myriam and Patty who are playing today!!

ARGH I'm getting really fed up with Michel right now, especially if he lost to a qualifier in such a weak field here and does not show up for qualifying in Montreal. Either way, I'm getting fed up with him

I didn't see Michel's name in any of the challenger draws this week, so I have no idea what he's doing this week. Hopefully practicing on some hard courts somewhere, and I also hope he plays qualies in Cincinnati.

Aww, Micha is so cute I did see him in Cincy -- on a poster A Volkl poster, no less. I guess they are the only ones who will promote him right now. I miss him. Is he playing US Open qualies? I'm so behind . . .

Yes, I just saw that. He's still listed in the players' list on the website though, so is there some way he got into the main draw? If he isn't playing the Open something is seriously wrong.

Woohoo, Michel! Nothing like getting a few matches under your belt for Davis Cup. If the Swissies had 2 healthy players they would have a real chance vs Austrailia.

Looks like Michel is loving the Rebound Ace in Turkey He defeated Andy Ram 6-3, 6-1 to advance to the final of the Istanbul $75K+H challenger. He'll play Robin Soderling for the title. This has to be a huge boost for the Swiss DC team

Ahahaha, there are some funny articles on the official Swiss Davis Cup website! Here's one I put in my Micha group: How sweet! Thanks Quantas! If alliance will have the Suisse Davis Cup team in Australia success, then this is among other things also earnings/services of an Australian company. With special prices and Upgrades into the roofridge Class made the airline Qantas the long journey from Basel comfortable via London and Singapore for Roger Federer, and the trip of Michel Kratochvil from Zurich via Frankfurt and Singapore as comfortable as possible. The two spent the last section of the journey from Singapore to Melbourne together, and had sufficient time to position themselves with a common battle plan for the forthcoming portion against Hewitt and Co. (DM) from the official Swiss Davis Cup site There's a small picture that accompanies this little text of Roger and Michel arriving in the early morning at the airport. It took both approximately 24 hours to fly from Switzerland to Melbourne and they look quite tired!
