Oh, and Hingis has a cushy draw. How can she fuck it up and lose before the QF? Lose to Bammer? WTAWorld thinks she might lose to Cavaday. So many questions up in the air. Venus will beat Maria.

Venus won't beat Maria. Venus is too erratic any more. Her 2nd serve is no good.

Well, it's a good thing I control the Earth through my predictions. I don't know...I just have a feeling. Uh-oh! I just assumed you had reached that conclusion through deep intensive lawyerly study. I'm not a fan of feelings in tennis predictions; I think they're based on what the feeler had for lunch. What did you say you had for lunch, btw? ;D

Oh, and Hingis has a cushy draw. How can she fuck it up and lose before the QF? Lose to Bammer? Chak. It's unbelievable: she's top 10, reaches Slam QFs and Tour finals, and seems to be invisible to most people. If she plays 10% of what she played in those first two sets against Jankovic, she'll indeed whomp Maria 1 and 2.

What did you say you had for lunch, btw? ;D CANDY. Chak will make another QF. Hingis will lose early. Maria will beat Venus. The 2007 final will be the 2006 final. New champion though.

What did you say you had for lunch, btw? ;D CANDY. If you had candy and picked JH over SW, then Wertheim must have had a low-carb steak'n'eggs lunch, because his pick is Serena. Not just in that match, but to win the whole shebang.

Schnyder hates Wimbledon. It will be interesting if she can contrive to lose to Pin. If not, I'd like to see Vinci mow through Harkleroad then Patty to the 3r. Will Poutch tank at Wimbledon too? Justine has no threats at all until Serena. Alona Bondarenko is the closest thing to it, and I don't believe she has a chance. Here's hoping ALG can at least manage a win over Ozegovic. Baltacha vs. Srebotnik ... hmmm ... Brit wild card upset? I can't believe Brandi qualified. Serena won't be troubled by that section, probably. Only Hantuchova has a realistic shot at beating her before Justine. I favor Justine over Serena - but both players are capable. ~~~~~~~~~ I hope Keothavong pulls the upset of the century over Jankovic in the 1r. Bartoli could not ask for a better draw to make a second consecutive Slam 4r. Peer may beat her, but Marion's been hot lately. And Shahar has two danger matches in the first two rounds. We'll see. Martina should be meat on this surface, given her long layoff and last year's performance. But that is a hell of a kind draw. Cavaday may have some talent, but Hingis no doubt can handle her. And then Sucha-Nakamura? I'd be surprised ... Bammer, maybe, Lepchenko, I don't know ... Martina has a fair chance of keeping her 4r date with the Chak, methinks. And Chak should get there. For lack of inspiration, I'm picking Jankovic to get through there. There's really nobody else who should. And I imagine she'll lose to the winner of Serena-Justine in the SF. ~~~~~~~~ Does Schiavone suck enough these days to lose to ANNE KREMER?! Medina-Garrigues vs. Ruano-Pascual on grass makes me want to ralph. Yes, I said 'ralph'. I pick Petrova to get out of there. Maybe Ivanovic will amuse me by losing to Meilen Tu. Vaidisova's draw is child's play. She will make the fourth round barring monsoon. Mauresmo has looked okay at Eastborne, but she's really lacked for both results and matchplay this season. I don't have the confidence of some who have her in the final. She's not immune to an early round upset, I don't think. Jackson? Morita? Santangelo, even? Razzano, maybe! It's more likely than not that she'll be in the fourth round, I guess, but her upset potential exists. If she meets Vaidisova, Nicole may pull that out. I guess Vaid-Petrova is my QF. And I pick Nicole for the SF. ~~~~~~~~~ Vakulenko is not an easy draw for Sveta. But wow, Julia's the toughest player in that section other than her. Sveta will get through and hopefully have to face PASZEK! But ... more likely Dementieva will crap her way through to the 4r. Venus SUCKS. And I'd love for Shuai Peng to down her in the 2nd round. But that could never happen, so let's hope for Safina in the third. And that probably can't happen, so Maria in the fourth? Yeah, sure ... I'm glad Cornet got into the draw. I don't trust Maria's form or her health. I saw she gets to the QF and drops a decision to Kuznetsova, who then loses to Vaidisova, who then loses to either Serena or Justine.

Justine v Serena QF is good, because that means it will actually happen. Any further apart in the draw and one of them would probably get upset first. When will Justine get to rectify certain matters against Venus though? Werthless thinks Hanturexia will lose to A-Pav. I wish. JJ would be a really good pick for at least the SF but I can't help thinking that she has to hit the wall at some point. Maybe against ANNE K! Or more rationally against Lucie. Hingis to lose to...Bam-Bam? And, yeah, Chak to the QF - actually I can see her in the SF, she's got historical affinity for grass if I remember correctly. Ivanovic/Petrova section wide open due to simultaneous slumping. Or - looking at who else is in it - maybe not. Uh, Mirza? I'd like to see her do well, actually. Aga can defend her points Paszek to the 4th round? Golovin's been out for ages, and if Bartoli can trash ED so can Tamira. Do we think Dinara can beat Venus? I...don't, actually. Poor Latisha

As for Mauresmo, I think she must have played herself quietly back into at least semi-decent form by now. But I don't think she's as desperate to win as she was last year - just like Novotna after she finally won Wimbledon. Having said that, I can't actually see anyone in the bottom half I'd really pick over even semi-decent Mauresmo. She has a great record over Sharapova, from a time when Sharapova's serve wasn't fucked up, and Vaidisova's failings on grass have been v apparent this week. I predict Henin d. Mauresmo in the final

But Justine won Eastbourne again, which means Wimbledon is out of the equation.

well I don't see Justine beating Serena in the QF, probably because tactically she's railroaded herself into a serve-volley mindset, which is nice and all for its old timey-ness but her reach ain't that great and Serena's can pass her 'till the cows come home. Justine usually beats Serena's by throwing off her timing with junk and/or getting into a midcourt slugfest. Neither of which of course are possible when you rush the net.

The Centre Court looks strange. I don't like it.
It's time for Sharapova to get it together and play up to her potential at this Wimbledon.

I don't care about the court one way or the other. It's just a tennis court, no matter how many hundreds of times we are told it's a "cathedral".
