11 Apr 2004 - Centre Intercommunal de Glace de Malley, Prilly, Lausanne, SUI - Chris Bowers - SUI v FRA Federer Brings Swiss Level With French World No.1, Roger Federer again delighted his home crowd as he defeated Arnaud Clement 62 75 64, to keep Switzerland alive in their Davis Cup by BNP Paribas World Group Quarterfinal tie against France in Lausanne. Federer got off to a flying start and although Clement made a fight of it, in the second set, an early break in the third set was sufficient for Federer to take the third set and the match. Federer has now won 14 of his last 15 singles rubbers for Switzerland and did not face even one break point today. It will all now come down to the final fifth rubber in which Nicolas Escude will face Michel Kratochvil, who replaces Ivo Heuberger. More details to follow. www.daviscup.com/news/matchreport.asp?id=12886www.daviscup.com/news/matchreport.asp?id=12886
