Rogi on June ACE mag fr UK:
Ace Magazine Just Got Better - June Issue Out Now!!
15th May 2004
The June issue with a Free
Sexiest Players booklet
Ace Tennis Magazine, Britain’s premier tennis magazine has been given a hot new look. The magazine, which is given away free to all Advantage Members of the Lawn Tennis Association, and is also available on the news-stands in larger newsagents, has been redesigned and is filled with the hottest photography of the top stars in action.
A few months ago we conducted a readership survey. The news was good. Readers liked the mix of interviews with star players, match reports and coaching advice that ACE brought them every month. A general interest tennis magazine hit the mark for most of our audience.
For our sophisticated readers, tennis is not a niche activity but a lifestyle choice. For us, the next step was to make sure the magazine looked every bit as good as the most prestigious magazines on the news-stand. The result, we think, is something pretty stunning. I hope you agree.
But even more important than what ACE looks like, is what’s in it.
This month we have an exclusive interview with world number one, Roger Federer. He tells us how he conquered temper tantrums, learnt to control his talent and has determined to keep on winning. A relaxed Federer also gave us time to photograph him - and you can see Julian Anderson’s pictures in this issue.
This is also the issue that heralds the start of the UK summer season of tennis. To celebrate we talk to some of the stars on a court near you, and provide the complete guide to the events. If you are at the great summer grasscourt tournaments in Eastbourne, Surbiton, Nottingham or Edgbaston, you can get a free copy by buying a programme.
And this is also our steamy Sex List 2004 issue. For the first time, we present the winners in a handy A6 mini-book. Surely a collector’s item… just don’t let teacher see you reading it in class!
Also inside the bumper June issue:
The first part of our definitive buyers’ guide to the new season rackets.
Marat Safin’s backhand under the microscope.
A bad-weather coaching clinic from Virginia Wade.
