Henin is now up a set and 3-0 over Williams. I don't want to say the match is over. But it is. Venus' forehand is letting her down and that means easier points for Justine.

Well done to Henin on beating Venus in straight sets. Now the pressure is on Justine to win the final and that pressure could get to her. Especially if Kuznetsova is playing well.

Yeah, it was a scratchy performance in places but she made some ridiculous gets. Still think she needs to be convinced of how good she is on this surface. There was little of that calm she had in the last few rounds of RG and there was that moment of "oh no, I'm up 5-3 in the second, what do I do now?" but Venus was spent by then too.

I don't think the pressure will get to Justine, cat. Fatigue, emotional exhaustion, maybe, but pressure, no. So is wtaworld exploding with teen rage? I caught Oracene signaling to Venus to question a call, btw. ;D So happy Vee & Justine could play so well in those gross conditions. Especially after that first nightmarish SF!

I caught Oracene signaling to Venus to question a call, btw. ;D So happy Vee & Justine could play so well in those gross conditions. Especially after that first nightmarish SF! Janie, Justine is vulnerable to a letdown in the final after beating the mighty Williams sisters back to back in a grand slam. Martina Hingis had a letdown against Jennifer Capriati in the 2001 Australian Open final after beating the Williams sisters in the previous 2 rounds. The same thing could happen to justine tomorrow. And Justine doesn't even have a day off to rest for the final. Henin is a better tennis player than Kuznetsova. But Kuznetsova is physiclly stronger. I think this will be a close match in the final.

More random thoughts. It was odd that for most of the first set, it was the backhand that was missing, not the forehand. And that game at 3-3! I've never seen her win a crucial game in a big match like that 0-40 down without a single first serve. Got a little lucky there.

I'm kicking myself for having forgotten about the schedule and missing the 1st set while some of you missed all of it intentionally because you couldn't bear watching poor Juju battle Invincible Venus.Really? Who didn't watch?? I was definitely watching. Every single point. On the edge of my seat. I had so much adrenaline running that I finally got down on the floor and did 25 pushups! I've never done 25 in a row in my whole life, but that's how much adrenaline I had, I was so nervous Justine would blow her leads -- which she did, but won anyway. Now I've got to get nervous again for tomorrow night, with the nightmare of <BARTOLI> shimmering in my head!

I didn't watch the first set, but I couldn't bear now knowing the score so I'd tune in every 2 minutes. I watched the second set until 5-3 and then I went out for a cig, thinking that if she wins, great, if she chokes, well, at least I have enough nicotine in my blood.

But, like Corswandt said... thanks to Venus for those laughable errors in the final game to close it out.
