I'm sure you'll be able to do that one of these days. Bless your Mom for planning to take you to Wimbledon next year. You must. Roger will be defending his title there. I hear you're going to Portugal! Good on you. I went to Lisbon a few years back and loved it. Wish i could be on the beach right now. It's hot here again. But i'll go to the pool for a swim later. Tomorow my husband and i will drive to Liechtenstein, then we'll have dinner somewhere in Austria. Come back to Bern on Sunday.

Apparently she's been wanting to go for years So she said she would fix a few days next year. I know for sure we will be watching Mark because he is her fave, she fancies the pants off him and there is no way Im going to Wimbly without watching Rogi! Yes next week Im looking forward to it very much. We are hiring a car and travelling round the Algarve. Oh that sounds lovely enjoy it.

see, that's what i'd love to do but hubby doesn't have too much time off from work, just take off for ten days or so and drive down to the Italian Riviera, then to the Toscana region, then back to Bern.
ahh...so many places to go...to see...*sigh*
must go have a dip now, i'm all greasy from all that suncream i put this morning while playing tennis. Blame it on the Gstaad sun.
Algarve looks good from the pictures! I'm sure you'll have a great time.

an interview with Roger's Dad. He talks about the business side but also his reactions to the big win. But he said the reason why he didn't travel to London was that it was such short notice and things got hectic . Doesn't mention about feeding the cat . That their business is called Hippo, after hippopotamus, that him and his wife (she's quitting her job in the finance dept. of Ciba to concentrate on Roger's matters)always watched when they were in South Africa and that they both loved... he also mentions that after the win the phone at home never stopped ringing and that he received so many text messages, it was unbelievable!!! Federer: So, so! Was steckt hinter dem Namen?

See u all next week. . tschuss, Doris! Don't forget to buy a copy of Facts. There's also an interesting article written by Mario Widmer. There were all these free copies upstairs at the sponsors' area and i grabbed one of them. Hey, i almost caught Roger's wristband as he threw it to our side, but this tall guy in front of me jumped for it and immediately tucked it in the back pocket of his jeans. My husband says i have such short arms. lol

But i'm glad i had the chance to "talk" to him. I wanted also to ask how he felt when Juanqui won RG but i was embarrassed cuz i was the only one who was asking all these questions. If that would have been Roger standing there in front of me i would have babbled forever...! Yeah, a DC finals between Spain & Switzerland? That would be like, wow, as the Swiss would say...Wahnsinn! finishing my house chores then i'm off to the tennis court again. Weekend and it's gorgeous weather. c u mujeres, later!

Wow Mrs. B!! Talk about going to a tournament in style! LOL, I'll just have to plan a little visit sometime around this time I'm just going to be a minion in Cincy, though that can be fun, too ;D What a way to watch some matches, though! My best hope will be that I can sneak down in the stands without getting in trouble. Too cute that you conversed with David Sanchez. I'm sure he felt a bit uncomfortable there, since he's not very well-known or popular, and was probably grateful someone asked him something! (at least, that's how I'd feel). Very happy you enjoyed your day, though! Have fun this weekend! It must be great to live in Europe . . . going to whole different countries for the weekend! I'm envious

I saw the result on text before and my eyes almost popped out of my head! I knew Nadal had won the 1st set and wondered if Nico could come bck from it ;D Such a good win for him! I was happy with that. I know he plays Gaudio next. Should be quite a test!

You really should come to Gstaad sometime and spend the night there. Then those players come out and you'll see them in the restaurants or bars... Re: travelling around different countries here---Austria & Liechtenstein are just on the border which is about 3 hours drive from Bern, so it's not that far. It takes longer to go to Ohio from New Jersey! The drive back from Gstaad (we rode with my husband's colleague) to Bern took an hour and 5 minutes!

LOL, well, the reason you never saw Jarkko is because he wasn't there This is a Davis Cup playoff weekend, so he's in Norway, battling it out. Damn DC site won't update their website until Monday, though If I have my way, I'm going to just have a tour of Europe ;D LOL, I've made some friends, you guys wouldn't mind me crashing, would you? ;D I think Layla & I talked about the difference between travelling in continential Europe and the US -- it's weird because even though I could easily get out of the state (well, rather easily, it's a long drive any way), I'm still travelling within the same country. Whereas in Europe, every different "state" is a different country! It must be amazing

He throws it like a frisbee. I'm sure the crowd must have been disappointed today not seeing him play. So we were really lucky to be there yesterday. lol, Hackie. Now i'm confused. I meant Koubek, not Jarrko. ;D

Koubek = Fashionista!! too funny he is a friend of Rogi though... even in Wimby whites he needs a fashion consultant poor guy! Italian Riviera -- you mean just past Nice and over the border? That area looks neat! One day when I return to Provence but the E part, I w like to just drive into Italy -- Liguria, nr that sleazy port Genova!! I heard Rogi speak a tiny bit of italiano to some Italian player in TO last summer -- saying "bello, bello"!! Too cute! Che carino!!

Well one of my friends has a cousin who lives in Finland.... or so he tells me. I'd like to visit probably every country on the European continent. I'd want to stay in some countries longer than others but off the top of my head, I can't think of a place there I wouldn't want to at least fly over. I'd actually like to to go all the Scandinavian countries: Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Finland . . . all those pretty blonde people, and it's never dark in the summer ;D Of course Finland holds a bit more for me, but not only cause its Jarkko's home country but because it's a land bridge to Russia! The only problem with visiting European countries is I don't speak any of the languages. I'd be especially lost in Scandinavia, but maybe I could find a nice English-speaking guide . . . .
