There's a book out on Rogi, but en francais -- found the info in the following link; I'll post the original French for anyone who can read it: Roger Federer - Le tennis magnifié Roger Federer est le premier joueur de tennis suisse à être devenu numéro un mondial... Roger Jaunin. Ed. Favre. 96 pages, 30 photos couleurs. Prix de souscription: CHF 21.00 (au lieu de CHF 25.00). Commande sur le site: www.lematin.ch (Rubrique boutique) www.mytennis.ch/daviscup/pages/index.cfm?dom=2&frub=1001&id=1981So far I've checked it out but can't figure out how to order it fr abroad... also checked out the publisher site but it's not even there! Also, an interesting thing, ZigZag Cafe on SUI TV and on TV5 in Canada has next week's programmes on DC and Rogi and Marc... funny cos I kept thinking that they might have Rogi on one day... and I was right! Hope Rogi will be on Fri... fingers crossed!! Can't wait to watch it!!

While I'm waiting for Rogi to play Roma [he's doing an exo w Pandy on Sun at or nr the Coliseum], I'm wondering what the best way to get tickets for Gstaad... just check the site and order online?? Any good seats left?? Also waiting to find out which Spanish city will host the DC SF... if it's Alicante, I may check out how to get tix for that also -- will be difficult tho I think... if it's NOT Alicante, I don't have to worry about it... ... so to Gstaad first... Of course, there's the sm matter of hotels, flights, etc. Very complicated... only way is thru London Heathrow... Just thinking out loud here...

and beat Gaudio he did today! well done. i miss watching tennis but c'est la vie. if my boss will give me a day off, i can go to Gstaad twice in July. We've been invited again as guests of the sponsor Allianz (i'm thinking gratis good food and wine ;D and good seats) and i got my bill for tickets for the semifinals, a Saturday. the best seats have already been taken for that Saturday, but i think what i have is not too bad, its a few rows up on the corner of the baseline. *must book earlier next year. Good luck on the next round, Herr Federer!

Here's that French book on Rogi I may have mentioned earlier: Roger Federer Roger Federer n'est pas seulement le premier joueur de tennis suisse à être devenu n°1 mondial. Format 13 x 24 cm. www.lematin.ch/nwmatinhome/boutique.html?act=detail&it=378[translation: "Roger Federer isn't only the first Swiss male player to become #1 in the world. He isn't just the one that his peers and people in his profession call "the virtuoso of the strings". He is also a warm, sensitive man who is faithful to his friends. It is this man and especially this player that this book describes."]

Congrats ;D You must come and visit more often, ILR!! Rogi's looking cuter every day... and he's so animated in his interviews. Check out MTF for some nice Rogi pix! I like what Rogi said here: The 22-year-old was so pleased with his win that he often laughed and joked during his post match press conference and gave praise to Martina Navratilova for helping his game along earlier this year in Hong Kong. "I asked her to hit with me and she was very happy," Federer said. "She gave me one tip, which is top secret, and it worked." www.rogerfederer.com/ALLEZ, ROGI!!!

Already half of my faves have been wiped out in the 1st round *sigh* For the women, Im glad Nadia had a relatively easy win and hope she can do what she did last year and get to the semi's! Really? I guess it's only sold where there is a large variety of mags... we get it here, but not consistently, in only one store but always a month later than you do in UK... so annoying!!!! Yes, I sure hope you get to see Mark in Queens -- if you see Pandy, make sure you do NOT cheer for him, right?! I'm missing UK now... trying to find a way over perhaps in Sep to coincide w DC in Alicante -- but only if I can get tennis tix. If not, I may alter my dates or destinations! How definite is THAT!!!??!!! Oops, I have to go and check out some BBC news and start din... good luck on the rest of your exams, esp French! You can cheer for Moya tomorrow, OK?

I doubt they'll put Mark on centre court, so I hope we'll get to see him! ;D I will cheer for Carlos tomorrow, dont you worry about that! Thanks for the good luck wishes, I'll speak to you soon!

Rogi and Mirka went to this White Tie and Tiara Ball by Elton John [see pix fr Rogi pix thread] and I see there's sth in the HELLO mag about it... Issue No. 823 06.07.2004 anyway still trying to find more pix -- there were some from other sites... wireimage and some czech site... can't remember name... Some gossip fr Telegraph: Court & Social: Nothing in rules to say queue scam out of line By Mark Hodgkinson (Filed: 28/06/2004) These are the only two weeks of the year when you will see the middle classes sleeping rough on the streets of London. But that old joke, that as a nation we take unnatural pleasure from queuing, would not amuse the disgruntled campers shuffling their way towards the All England Club. An internet scamster has taken advantage of this, providing what is believed to be the first overnight queuing service. ... Roger Federer has never been a man who chases a double-page spread in Hello!, so it was probably the decision of his girlfriend, Mirka Vavrinec, for them to attend Sir Elton John's white tie and tiara ball. Vavrinec, though, had two fronts on which to achieve a weary "OK, dear". First, as his girlfriend, she would have fluttered her eyelids. Second, as his media agent, she would have instructed him of the wonderful opportunity to broaden his appeal by having his photograph taken standing next to Ozzy Osbourne. Vavrinec was not going to miss the ball. She was already "very excited" about all the celebrities, and had spent thousands of pounds on a Valentino party frock. Sir Elton, a tennis enthusiast, was "delighted" that Federer made an appearance at his Berkshire mansion, complimenting the defending champion on his grasscourt form. The only awkward moment came when 200-odd guests watched Urs Meier's black comedy of errors, the England and Portugal match. Sensibly, Federer kept quiet and did not announce that, like the official, he is also Swiss. ... www.news.telegraph.co.uk/
