So, how excited are the natives at this prospect? It will be the first time in 3 years that there is a tie in Switzerland. Interestingly enough, the last time SUI played at home, it was against FRA, in the quarterfinals World Group QFs Patinoires du Littoral, Neuchatel, SUI 06 April - 08 April 2001 Surface: Carpet (Greenset Trophy) - Indoors Ball Type: Wilson Tournament R1 - A.CLEMENT (FRA) def. M.ROSSET (SUI) 6-3 3-6 7-6(4) 6-7(6) 15-13 R2 - N.ESCUDE (FRA) def. R.FEDERER (SUI) 6-4 6-7(1) 6-3 6-4 R3 - R.FEDERER / L.MANTA (SUI) def. C.PIOLINE / F.SANTORO (FRA) 5-7 6-3 7-6(4) 6-7(3) 9-7 R4 - R.FEDERER (SUI) def. A.CLEMENT (FRA) 6-4 3-6 7-6(5) 6-4 R5 - N.ESCUDE (FRA) def. G.BASTL (SUI) 1-6 7-5 6-7(3) 6-4 8-6 No matter -- both teams have changed since then, and the French teams seems to be embroiled in its own little drama. Considering how diehard the Swiss fans are, it's probably going to be amazing! According to the Swiss DC fans site, it will be at Malley? Where is that?

i'm so lucky with tickets here in CH, i tell you. last year i got to go to Gstaad twice, the second time, in style, compliments of the sponsors, Allianz. then in Basel i won 2 VIP tickets, great seats.
and now, another free ticket for those 3 days in Lausanne!
my gf who won them last year in Gstaad won't make it as she's going on her honeymoon on that weekend, so she's passed it down to me...
the tennis gods love me! ;D

btw., Doris got her tickets today. the lines were apparently quite busy but she hung in there and got through, good for her as they were sold out after a few hours! (well i'm sure they've left out something for the Frenchies. ) I didn't know where to post this but thought you guys might like to know...Hackie, note that Bern, is 5th on the list! ------------------- SWISS CITIES TOP QUALITY SURVEY LONDON, England (AP) -- The Swiss cities of Zurich and Geneva have topped an urban quality of life survey while war-torn Baghdad has ranked last. The survey by Mercer Human Resource Consulting, published Monday, is intended as a guide to life for expatriates rather than for local residents. A total of 215 cities were ranked based on criteria including economic and environmental factors, health, education, transport and safety. Vancouver, Canada and Vienna, Austria tied for third place in the survey. U.S. cities slipped, the company said, as tighter security caused more time-consuming entry and exit checks. The highest-ranked U.S. cities were Honolulu and San Francisco, in joint 24th place. The lowest was Atlanta, at 66. Countries in Europe, Australia and New Zealand dominated the top of the list, with Auckland, New Zealand; Bern, Switzerland; Copenhagen, Denmark; Frankfurt, Germany; and Sydney, Australia all in the top 10. Baghdad received the lowest ranking, below Bangui in the Central African Republic and Brazzaville, Congo. "The threat of terrorism in the Middle East and the political and economic turmoil in African countries has increased the disparity between cities at the top and bottom of the rankings," said Mercer senior researcher Slagin Parakatil. The Top 10 (with last year's ranking): 1. Zurich (1), Geneva (2) 3. Vancouver (2), Vienna (2) 5. Auckland (5), Bern (5), Copenhagen (5), Frankfurt (5), Sydney (5) 10. Amsterdam (10), Munich (1)

Phew, I'm glad Doris got her tix cos I was about to ask that... some people didn't manage to get them since they sold so quickly! Well, if SUI beats FRA I am seriously thinking about buying tix [somehow???] and coming to SUI in Sep for the SF... I better think NOW of how I w actually achieve that... Anyway, thanks for letting us know!! Say HI to Doris for us! You guys will have to cheer on Rogi and the boys for us!! S be a blast. Nice survey there, Mrs. B.! Vancouver almost always rates highest in Canada... not TO, that's for sure... every day I want to get out of this place... ;D

You go Mrs. B and I will be looking forward to it for sure.
Considering I was at the DC semi final in Melbourne, you better bring them luck and Roger better be fired up for the doubles and Allegro makes some returns.
