Silliams v Amélie third round It's kind of crazily wide open. Like, I can imagine Jankovic winning the whole thing as easily as I can imagine her losing 2 and 2 to Wozniacki in the third. The only certainty is that Batty will lose to Dellacqua in round 1. How much did Mirza pay to get a section consisting of Castano, MJMS and Muller? Leach will probably make the QF I'm taking Shriek to win.

Maria's section is laughable, as is Penis'. They should meet in the semis. The only one with a shot at stopping that is Dinara, IMO.
Lindsay could make QF... but I could just as easily see her losing 3R. She should get past Elena, but Dinara's not going to be easy. I didn't see their last match, but the scoreline was quite one-sided for Dinara.

Ana with about the easiest draw possible. Normalcy returns.
Lindsay will not beat Demented. Even when we were good, we couldn't beat her in slams.

Hmmm.. well not too bad for Lindsay. QF should be the main goal, and we all know what's going to happen if she gets that far.
The bottom section is so week. Jankovic should reach the semis blindfolded.
Bah, these past couple of Slam draws just seem so... unexciting.

Leach will not reach QF. I expect her to retire against Dulko in R2. Surprisingly, Ivanovic has an easy draw. Should reach the semis without a problem. Zvonareva can be a big problem for Jankovic. Vee's draw in the first 4 rounds looks very easy, and we all know what it means. I thought Hantuchova was going to pull out? Maybe Pennetta can surprise us all again.

If Leach retires, it's going to happen in the 1R. I don't think her injury is very serious, and if it really is a problem, we should know immediately. She has a way of sucking it up in slams, like at the US Open in 2003 and 2006, and at Wimbledon in 2004.
I really don't see how Pee doesn't make the final. Maria has bombed out to her twice at this tournament, and both times Pee was arguably coming into the tournament in even worse form. I don't see Jankovic providing alot of resistance late into a major, especially on grass.

Schiavone-Paszek is an interesting first-rounder ... I'm hoping Tamira can revive her sagging season.
The Schnyder-Vaidisova area is weak. Akgul the Giant? Samantha Stosur? They have fourth round prospects, methinks.
Nobody stands out in the top quarter beyond Ivanovic. Ana is certainly capable of going out early, too. Probably not in her first two rounds, but after that, who knows? Somebody could spring an upset. But ... if she's in form and playing like the #1 the rankings tell us she is, it's a good path to the SF.
The Kuz gets grass-court maven (heh) K-Bond in round two, and then A-Bond in round three. I will go out on a limb and say she can't beat both Bonds!
I guess we find out how rusty Na Li is. Cornet should be way easier on grass.
Lisicki is no easy draw for Marion. That's a danger match for her. In fact, I could see her losing to anybody in her section. I consider a 4r run very unlikely for Marion.
I hope Amelie's not worried about Serena, since she's hard pressed to win two straight these days. Her first two rounds are a gift though.
I don't know what to expect from Lindsay. Recent history tells us that it should be Dinara in the QF, maybe the SF, though. There is nobody in that quarter she hasn't beaten this year.
Jesus will probably spite us all and have Venus bullshit an 8-6-in-the-third win over Cavaday in the 1r. And then title.
But really, please, please, please, please let her lose to Cavaday or Keothavong. Please!
I have hopes for Wickmayer.
I don't know what to make of Tammy's hot week in the Netherlands (or wherever that event is now). Cetkovska is good and may well send her packing. If she doesn't, Vera probably has too much skill for the Pokeable One to overcome.
Oh right, Krajicek's ranking will die after this. Go Erakovic, Go!
Maybe Wozniak will fluke another third round. I could see it.
Like the rest of the board, I find it hard to call Jankovic. Her record against Venus and Serena is enough to make one wonder whether she can win this title. But I don't know. I certainly wouldn't mind if she was beaten early, opening up the bottom half.

Since my predictions were so accurate last time I simply must have another go:
4R: Yan v Yuan, La Razz v Batty, Kuz v Conehead, Bremond v Ree, Leach v Hsieh!, Shrieky Jr. v Shrieky Sr. (in the loudest match in tennis history), Sania v Ai, Kata v Jank
QF: Yuan v Batty, Conehead v Ree, Leach v Shrieky Sr., Ai v Kata
SF: Batty v Ree, Leach v Kata
F: Ree def. Leach 2-6 6-4 6-0 (with Leach being up 6-2 4-0)

With Safina losing to Tammy today, I find it very possible that Leach comes out of that section...

So, Leach's stock rises since she hasn't played in 3 months.
Why Lindsay could win another slam.

I'm really hoping JJ wins this. Which means she'll lose to Suarez-Navarro in the second round.

Initially I thought of making a "worst case scenario" prediction matrix, but there isn't much point in that since reality will certainly be worse. So here goes.
4R:
Ivanovic d. Rybarikova Chakvetadze d. Stosur Radwanska d. Kuznetsova Serena d. Bartoli
Safina d. Davenport Sharapova d. Petrova Venus d. Pennetta Jankovic d. Zvonareva
QF
Ivanovic d. Chakvetadze Serena d. Radwanska Sharapova d. Safina Jankovic d. Venus
SF
Ivanovic d. Serena Jankovic d. Sharapova
Final
Ivanovic d. Jankovic

Final Ivanovic d. Jankovic It'd be nice. But Ree def. Vee (or vice versa, who cares) is way more likely than that.
