"If he can keep this level, even for another three or four years, he's going to be the greatest player that ever lived," said McEnroe.
"That's saying something after watching a lot of great players.
"I've played for 15 years, been around for 12 years doing commentary and watched (Pete) Sampras win all those Wimbledons.
"I was also lucky enough to play a lot of great matches with (Bjorn) Borg and (Jimmy) Connors, but to me, Federer is the most awesome talent I've ever seen.
"I would never want to put anyone ahead of a guy like (Rod) Laver, who I idolised when I grew up, but Federer has got everything, and he's also got this supreme confidence and belief.
"Inevitably something is going to happen, he's going to get injured. I believe he's human, but at the moment he appears unbeatable. If he plays well I don't think anyone can beat him."

"Inevitably something is going to happen, he's going to get injured." Just cannot stay away from Roddick and his brilliant play, can you?

I was reading in Drucker's not so great book about a Connor's vs Borg match, USO final (he actually cover that match and lead up vv well) and thinking that if anyone wants to beat Fed they should reactivate the soul of Connors. Scary thought, but maybe Andy needs to hire him Not that I want anyone to beat Roger, ever, but some incredible battles would be fun. When I went to buy my new tennis shoes to return to tennis post injury, the store owner a geezer tennis player, talked non-stop about Roger's genius. That's why I buy from him

That's why I buy from him Hewitt has that, but he doesn't have the game, a major drawback. ;D And woohoo to Roj-loving geezers!
