It's a no-win situation. And I really think this one will be worse than the other train wrecks. Simply because they know this is probably their last slam final against each other. Thus, we'll probably see many cute sister moments. Oh, joy. Hail the Queens of tennis.

The Sistahs exposed the sorry state of women's tennis yet again. Not that this is hard to do, but still.
Zheng was okay today, but Demented's tie-break was absolutely awful. These women are very lucky that the previous generations did so well which is why they make so much undeserving money now.

Well, it was obvious that once the sistahs find themselves in the 2nd week they are very tough to beat. And it's not their fault that those who theoretically should have the biggest chance against them have already bowed out before the quarters. And Zheng and Tanasugarn, bless them, are not going to be beating them, at least not from the QF on. Maybe if Demented wasn't so stupid she wouldn't have made 5 UEs in a row in the tie-break against Vee who is actually not playing too well, and thus made it a match but no such luck.
This was easier to take in 2002 when they really were dominant and that much better than the rest of the field. Now it's just that the top of the WTA is pathetic. Make Vee and Ree co-number 1.

I think what the WTA needs is a Federer/Nadal-like player. One that takes the game to a new level and really puts the other lazy fucks under pressure. We haven't had someone like that forever. The Williams did it but they didn't follow through when they got worse in 2004. And Justine was too fragile for that.

Then again, some players don't seem to mind losing early frequently and are content with a fat pay-check now and then. Or maybe they make more money by fixing matches. The top women are overpaid nowadays. But when they all keep sucking like that, the money won't be there forever. Maybe that will be the moment when some players start caring again.

Serena and Venus have the 2 best serves in women's tennis history which is the main reason why they are playing another Wimbledon final against each other. That said I am so dissapointed in Dementieva's second set tiebreak against Venus today. Elena had a good chance to take it 3 sets and change the momentum of the match and blew it on unforced errors.

But I thought Maria Yurievna Sharapova had the best serve on the Women's Tennis Association Tour? She is also a former winner of The Championships Wimbledon held in the former town of Wimbledon which is now a part of the Merton suburb of London, England, Great Britain, United Kingdom.

These women are very lucky that the previous generations did so well which is why they make so much undeserving money now. I agree that they women are lucky with the money they make in tennis in 2008. The sport of women's tennis is a little weak right now without a great player in the prime of their career dominating now that Justine Henin has retired. And women's tennis has no great players on the horizon either. Maria Sharapova and Ana Ivanivic are very good young players but they don't dominate and have their bad spells of tennis. I don't know where women's tennis is heading but they should be happy they share their grand slams with the men otherwise they would be like the LPGA tour and struggle to run grand slam tournaments on their own.

Is WTAW up in arms about Dementieva saying (not for the first time, I think) that the Williams family will determine the plot of the final, thereby reducing "the biggest match of the year" ([sic], TM Wimbledon) to an exhibition?

I've been saying this for years, but most here disagree. You're all crazy. Even for the haters of the Big 3, and people like myself that never want to see Fed/Nadal play again, their talent and desire are amazing and cannot be denied.
Well said. These selfish bitches have no idea what they could be throwing away. Arguably, tennis is the only sport where women still command respect for their abilities. It's all fun for the Sistahz and Leaches of the tour now, who can take a dump on the court and the media will eat it for the rest of their career. But, this isn't eternal.

The second semi sounded a little better. Shame Zheng couldn't get the ball in play off that Silliams second serve on SP in the second. A third set would have been fun. Yup. She read it perfectly but chose the difficult DTL shot, and it hit the tape. Then she double faulted on MP. Having said that, Serena's serve was astonishingly good. Every second point was an ace. Demented's interview is strange. She blatantly says the result of the final will be a "family decision" but the rest of the interview seems to indicate that she doesn't think this. Whatever, she's dumb, we knew this.

Yes WTA World is up in arms. Elena did say in 2001 that Richard Williams will determine the winner between Serena and Venus in Indian Wells. But that's not what she said or meant this time. Elena had only good things to say about the sisters.

Whatever, she's dumb, we knew this. I don't know. It's seems like they just kept waiting for her to openly say the match will be fixed, and she had about a dozen opportunities to say it's not what she believes, but instead she just keeps babbling about whatever. It seems to me that she indeed believes it will be a family decision, but can't say it. Don't be a wuss, Lena.

I do find it cute that it's horribly offensive to even suggest a professional that always trains hard and plays her best in Penis Williams.
While we fine Nikolay Davydenko, with absolutely no tangible proof, for tanking and constant complaints of match fixing.
Nothing to do with race and nationality, of course.
