A-Rad leads Cibulkova 6-0. Erm.
My commentating team praising Dr Ivo to the nines. And Sam Querry too - but it's a good match so far and the commentating is decent.

Ivo with a ghastly error to lose a tiebreak. I didn't see that coming.

The guy that Wawrinka is playing actually moonballs. And not just in the fun pretend way that Nadal does. Dude hit at least three of them in the three games that I saw of that match. One moonball per game is an impressive ratio. I approve of his decision.
Now they're showing Nadal. I think that my commentators are speaking Chinese, but who knows.

Also, I see that Nadal opted to play in the usual get up, and that whatever he had on for Ashe Kids Day was just for Nike show. Oh well.

Mopey is going to lose.
Ugh, the top half is opening up for Rafa to dominate easily.

Please don't blow this like Llodra did, Mr. Melzer.
Yes, Nadal has been playing his matches in his usual get-up. I guess his sponsors gave him a "Kid's Day" outfit the way Sharapova's sponsors designed a "day dress" and a "night dress" for her. Funny, I don't recall Justine or Kim ever having separate Day and Night outfits.

How many times are they going to ask how special it is to win a gold medal? I mean, JEBUS, the ask it in every round before the match, after every match, during the press conference.
Yes, it's very very very special. Next.

I doubt that either Kim or Justine would have wanted Day and Night outfits. I imagine that Sharapova was very excited at omg! more! clothes! Different strokes and blah.

Yes, it's very very very special. Next. Maybe the value of a gold medal changes according to what round of the US Open you are in. We'll never know, unless they ask! What we really need are more tennis players to be as surly with the press as Nalbandian is on a pissy day. When he just says "yes", "no", or "I don't know", until they finally put everybody out of their misery and end the press conference. Then maybe they'd stop asking stupid questions, or the same question over and over again.

Stan and Other Dude exchanged some words at the net after the match and maybe didn't shake hands. According to folk on MTF:
"I didn't see the entire thing but it seems that during the third set Wawrinka accused Cipolla of faking an injury and at one point Wawrinka also mocked him by walking with a limp as if to pretend he was injured as well. I guess Cipolla was pissed off about that."
Fascinating stuff.

Pathetic efforts like this against the Sistahz should lead to fired. Alona, fired. Alona Bondarenko is the closet thing to Anna Kournikova that the WTA Tour has to offer. So don't be too hard on her. Alona played okay. Venus was just too good and her imposing game looks like the Venus from 2000 to 2002.

Melzer is going down against fitness monster Murray. Jurgen Melzer looks tired but he could be playing possum and get things together for a good fifth set. Andre Agassi was a master of this.

Melzer looks good early in the fifth and final set and leads Murray 3-2 on serve. Gee what a surprise that Melzer appears to have recovered and gotten his game back together.

Monfils beating Nalbandian would be good for Nadal. Probably. That's debatable. Big athletic tennis players on a good day can overpower Nadal. And Monfils fits that category. nalbadian might make Nadal play a very long match. But he can't outhit Nadal the way Tsonga did at the 2008 Australian Open. And I hope U.S. Open viewers on CBS television are enjoying John and Patrick McEnroe's analysis on the Monfils/Nalbadian match.

Monfils beating Nalbandian would be good for Nadal. Probably. Not really, because Nalbandian sucks. Which is the reason why Monfils will beat him.

He's good. Very good.
And I liked his attitude on match point. He wasn't afraid to go for the forehand winner.
