Day 13.

Post by The Chloe on Sept 6, 2008 12:07:23 GMT -5
I was supposed to go to Daejeon tonight to see some friends. If they get both of these matches in, I will have forfeited this chance to get drunk in a new city (that looks much like all the other Korean cities I've been drunk in), for the opportunity to paint my nails blue and watch Stupid Saturday. And I will consider this day a success.

The stats tell me that Murray just whomped Nadal in the first set. Anybody see any of that, who can give a summary of what's going on over there?

There's probably a live stream somewhere showing that match, but I'm too lazy to find out so I'm stuck with what Eurosport gives me, which is Federer.

But, if we asked Sania Mirza and Cammie Pan about hawk eye on the outside courts, who would be a more likely advocate? You mean, because Sania hits closer to the lines? It depends. We would need an empirical study to find out whether linesmen are more likely to call out or in on very close balls. Yes. Then there's the whole lower-ranked player that deals with controversial calls better than the one who doesn't element. The former is at a disadvantage to, say, a Jankovic, who gets constant hawk-eye reassurance at the big events. I should have said hawk-eye changes on-court conditions that benefit some but disadvantage others. It would be like allowing on-court coaching only on Ashe and Armstrong. JesusFed came back for a bit with an outrageous sliced smash jumping lob! Bleh. Nole seriously pissed at the crowd. Murray a set up. Uh. OMG WHAT MATCH DO I WATCH???!!!!

I"m also too lazy to switch, which is just as well... as I said earlier, I suspect this is the better of the two matches. And even then, I'm only seeing a couple points per game, as I'm doing multiple things. Blaaaaaaaaaah. It's good that I'm going home soon, just as I break into my comfortable lazy-ass rut.

And it appears Murray is ready to make his first grand slam final takinbg the first from Nadal 6-2.

Murray missed three break-points with some sloppy shots. Shouldn't do that against the no.1 player, Rafael Nadal-Parera from Spain.

It appears that Andy Murray from Scotland is serving well. If he keeps serving like that, it will not be easy for Rafa Nadal to break his serve. Weather reports indicate a strong possibility of rain later. An onslaught of torrential downpour may result in wet courts and a break in play.

Profound words. Thanks. But I'm hoping for my reverse psychology to kick in and nhelp Djokovic and Nadal. But Novak looks done. And I'm wondering if Nadal has a comeback in him today. He will need Murray to get nervous.
