Wow, Murray has become a damn good player. I don't even like him but it was a real pleasure watching him, even if he was playing a very worn-out version of Rafa. No women's final for me!

Murray has been that good all year. And a fast hardcourt like this is perfect for his game.
I don't think he'll win tomorrow, though.

I hope not. I know he's always been fun to watch. I even enjoyed watching him play on clay. But the way he put it all together in this match and the JMDP one, the only ones of his I saw, was really impressive. He looks especially good after watching some horribly boring and predictable women's matches.

Once Mopey learns to control his emotions when he loses his range, he's going to be a consistent terror. Similar to Kolya, but with a serve.

Jankovic looks good early in the match against Serena. Too bad Nadal didn't take Murray 5 sets to see what happened. But atleast Murray should have enough energy to give Federer a good test in the final.

It's dissapointing Jankovic did not win the second set as she should have leading 5 3 and having 4 set points. She has given Serena a second chance in the set and she will regret that.

We still can't get a 3 set women's grand slam singles final. It's amazing. When was the last 3 set women's grand slam singles final? Wimbledon 2006? I think so. Congratulations to Serena on grand slam singles title number 9. She totally outgutted Jankovic in the second set. Serena had no business wining it. And I don't know if Jelena will ever fully recover from losing those 4 set points on such a big occasion.

Err, yes she will recover. Missing set point opportunies happens all the time, it's not like having match point and losing the match.
Weird trophee presentation. Not enough formal, it looked like Serena just won some local tournament.
Jankovic needs to be more professional and caring about her game instead of celebrities on the big screen. I don't care if it's her way to relax; it just makes her look unprofessional.

But this was a grand slam final and she should have won the second set. And yes Jelena needs to be more professional than she is. But that's just not her style. This was not a stellar U.S. Open for women's tennis that's for sure. They are lucky they get equal prize money.

Williams appeared to be tiring dramatically but then launched an astonishing comeback, recovering from 0-40 to save three set points when serving at 5-3 down. The game of the match, and arguably the tournament, followed as Williams stormed 0-40 clear in game 10 before making three unforced errors. Another Jankovic set point and a total of five break points would go begging before Williams finally levelled with a forehand winner. A lunging backhand volley saw the former champion hold serve in the next game before Jankovic saved a first championship point with a forehand winner. With the chance to force a tie-break in front of her, however, Jankovic double-faulted.
So, Silliams looked dead and buried in the second set, and came back from 3-5 0-40. Congrats, Jelena.

Well, that was inevitable. At least we have a non-embarrassing No 1 now. Can't say Silliams doesn't deserve it. Hopefully this will make her complacent again, though, and we see a repeat of 2006.
I find it more depressing that we got pretty much the best form players into the SFs, but no classic matches. Both SFs and the final had so much potential to be great. I'm not asking for, like, BEST MATCH IN HISTORY or anything, but just memorable and entertaining matches. All the losers are to blame, obv.

Well, let's remember that the conditions for the semifinal were appalling. The Federer-Djokovic match was no classic either. As for the final, it was well played. If Jelena had forced a third set, maybe it would've been a great match. Alas.
