6-4 4-6. Error fest from Federer in the second, but the set-point was fantastique!

Very tense -- Roj comes back from 0-40 down at 2-3 of the 3rd
"On 30-40 he put a great little volley over the net at a tight angle to win the point - it was a superb shot. He then won the next two points to take the game and we here the first "come on" from Federer in the match. Big game coming up for Simon."

Not to be outdone, Simon does the 0-40 escape thing in the next game.

Federer's forehand is comically bad today. I guess that's why he did this kamikaze net rushing in the previous game. Not the best plan against someone like Simon, although probably still better than rallying and missing forehands.

3-5 - SIMON BREAKS!!! He started the game with a cracking return winner which showed he meant business. He got to 15-40 but Federer produced a big serve to win the point. However, on the next point, Federer didn't get the first serve in and that gave Simon the chance to break. The Frenchman produced a great return and then went on to win the point with a shot into the corner. He now SERVES FOR THE MATCH
3-6 - AND SIMON HAS DONE IT. For the second time this year he has come from a set down to beat Roger Federer. He holds to 15 to win the match with an ace to wrap up the victory. The "Red Group" which also contains Andy Murray and Andy Roddick has been blown WIDE OPEN. What a Masters Cup debut from Simon. Murray v Roddick coming up.

I hope Roj doesn't pull out now -- there are some rumblings about his back. Murray gets the first break thanks to Roddick's sparkling net play: "3-2 - A great get from Murray sees him go 0-30 in front and while some big serving from Roddick gets him back to 30-30, the American then makes a mess of a volley at the net to bring up break point. Murray takes it too as he spots Roddick coming to the net and then places a fine cross court winner to take the game." Go Andy.

But Roddick has the last word in the sloppiness department.
"The performance was a little patchy and Murray looked a bit leggy and tired but he has got the win and that is the main thing."
