Nestor/Zimonjic are already assured a berth in the semis, and Leander has no chance. The winner of the Team Poland match will be other semifinalist.

If Federer beat Murray and Simon beats Stepanek, the three actual qualifiers will each have 2-1 records, correct? And then comes down to sets and games, yes? Or am I missing something?

Hurley, You are missing something. They have changed the rules. Murray is in no matter what. Sincerely, www.menstennisforums.com/showthread.php?t=134126

Actually they didn't change the rules, at least not recently. It's been like that for quite a while now.

"Depending on the results in the other group, I might even finish ranked 6th if I win on Friday."

I think that he (Andy Murray) should be very motivated to win. He is the rankings leader over the past three months. He will want to widen the gap, since he won't have many points to defend at the beginning of 2009. I have no concerns about his integrity. Especially since, if he eliminates Federer now, he won't have the perspective of maybe playing him in the final." -- G. Simon putting the heat on Mopey

That's different than WTA, then, right? Or did I make up a new system?! /me runs for president of WTA or ATP The WTA rules never clearly stated what they would do in this case, they just left that part out. Since they copied everything else from the ATP rules when they introduced Round Robin, I always assumed they would do it the same way. Although it's more likely they would make a random ad hoc decision.

'A double fault from Murray, who was clearly unsettled by the crowd cheering his first serve error, and Federer has got this match back on serve"
(the Chinese seem to have excellent taste)
"6-4 6-5 - Federer holds to love as Murray struggles to recover his composure and slaps a series of shots into the net. The Scot, who has served for the set twice will now have to serve to stay in the match"

"6-6 - Much better from the Scot as he recovers to hold and force the tie-break when Federer hits a wild forehand about two metres beyond the baseline"

"6-7 - A disappointing end to the set for Federer as he slaps down a double fault to hand Murray the equalising second set"
"Both players go for what they call a comfort break (toilet break to you and me) and the Federer receives a injury time out for the back injury he was carrying coming into the tournament"

"0-2 - It is the forehand again that lets Federer down and Murray has the early break"
