I hope Bepa - Jankovic can have another great match.
The final will be Ree-Ana though. Nothing in the world will stop Ree.

Bepa vs Jankovic QF guarantees at least one quality women's match! Really great opportunity for Bepa. Corswandt's BAG-related paranoia is misplaced - I'd be surprised if WozDen didn't come through that section. All-TPE 1R Tammy T and WozCan seeded at a Slam Azarenka v Kvitova 1R is like the ultimate ball-bashing contest. If Flavia Flav beat Venus in the 4R again, that would be hilarious. We may see a Safarova resurgence! She has a great shot at the 4R. Having said all of this, Ree saving MPs against Yuan in 1R and going on to win the final over Petrova (coming back from 1-6, 0-4 down) is exactly the kind of gross thing that happens here.

No, and yes. If Ana is playing decent, she'll overpower WozDen, and then every matchup goes her way. Shocking.
I'm pleased with this draw for television purposes, though.

Azarenka v Kvitova 1R is like the ultimate ball-bashing contest. Shrieky Vicky was never the monstrous big basher she's made out to be. She'll deal with Kvitova the same way she dealt with Safarova in Brisbane. Whether that will be enough depends on whether Kvitova is having a good hitting day. As for worst case scenario, it's "Aussie Ana" flattening A-Rad in the final.

If Aussie Ana wins as many AOs as Aussie Kim did, things will be okay.

Frankly, a Jankovic/Safina/Dementieva/Radwanska SF line-up would be amazing. Four crazy bitches thinking "COULD THIS BE MY ONLY CHANCE?" = amaze.

Though those 2 SFs + that final would end up with a total of ~175,000 errors as everyone took turns choking. So, maybe I wouldn't love to actually SEE those matches, but I'd love knowing it came down to this. Gooooooooooooooo ED! Though we all know she's going to lose to Venus due to the inevitable , if she even gets that far.

Ha, it looks like Dr. J or Crazy Samantha gave a dire warning to tennis.com's Tom Tebbutt:
"In this space yesterday, there was criticism of Stevenson’s conditioning and movement. That may have been a little harsh and it may be wiser to reserve judgment on the chances of the 28-year-old American, now ranked No. 210, rekindling the elements of a game that took her to a career-high ranking of No. 18 in 2002."
They even made got him to put in their beloved "former No. 18" part! I'd love to know exactly what went on behind the scenes to bring about this retraction of the truth. I remember a friend who worked at Tennis Week telling me one time about some of the strong-arming that went on with agents of Pornikova, Shoulderpova, and even Mr. Batty.

I could go all analytical and say a lot of laughably wrong stuff about the Baby Woz vs Baby Anci matchup, but I feel that, should that match take place, it will be possible to sum it up in a sentence. Not sure if Kvitova qualifies as a "dangerous floater", but it again shows that Shrieky Vicky isn't the luckiest of players.

Kvitova is dangerous, but I think Shrieky Vicky is a more of a bad match-up for her than the other way round.
I think you're all forgetting how bad BAG is playing at the moment. If we had to save MPs against Vinci, and couldn't take more than five games from Moonballing Maumau, she won't be overpowering WozDen here. Really, I think she's rather vulnerable to a 1R exit. I'll call that now! Goerges over BAG.

Plus Görges plays much the same game as BAG (slow, big serve + big FH), only about 5% as well. Blowout.

Basically true, although 5% is a little harsh. If Ana plays like shit and Julia is hot, she might have some chances. But yeah, Ana is more likely to struggle against moonballers at this point.

lex, on the ES website it says the player works on Macs with the "Flip4Mac" plugin.

I thought that would work, but it doesn't (I've had the Flip4Mac plugin installed for a while). Have gone with the Bet365 option anyway, fingers crossed that I can make that work (no luck so far).
