I never thought I'd see the day where Demented and Bepa were clearly playing the best tennis at a slam. This is their moment. The day that will determine if this '09 AO is win or fail. Ugh...

LOL. For all my negativity, I've just realised my favourite two active players are in the SF, and could potentially play the final against each other. The last time this happened was RG 04!

Ditto all that, but I hope its a better match if it happens.

It would have to be, though that last time I said that was RG 05.

Also while Vera would be best, I'd be happy for any RUS to win. If Elena makes the final she'll particularly deserve it.

I guess we will be able to sleep through day 12, with a 90 minute Rafa win and doubles no one cares.

Sleep It works out well, tomorrow is a late day and I don't have to do any reading or viewing, so I can stay up tonight and go to bed early tomorrow night for my very early Friday.

I think it was only a few months ago that I said this was the first time ever that my active #1 fave was not in the Slam-contending mix. Bepa stepped it up, which is both gratifying and stressful. :red:

The last time I had an active #1 fave in contention, or anyone I was really cheering for, was September 2002. Demented will put me through another 6.5 year stretch of insanity.

I'm listening to the Mylo Remix for "Breathe Me" by Sia. The last time I listened to it was during the Beijing Olympics women's QF. Lena D beat Silliams then, so maybe this will send some good luck her way. Okay. Wow. Just read what I typed - really grasping at straws here. The height of desperation. I hope it's insanely hot and everyone's about to collapse, but the roof gets stuck and can't be closed. Or something equally obnoxious.
Seriously though, Lena D and Bepa for the wins, please. As much as I have always rooted against Roddick, Roger is really getting on my nerves, so Allez Andy!
I don't know what will piss me off more. A 6-2, 6-2 win for Warrior Princess Jameka, or a 0-6, 7-6, 24-22 win saving 39274025 matchpoints. Now that she's overcome her one major scare, I fear she'll rip through the draw and crush everyone. And then, hopefully Sveta can go the Petrova route for the abomination that was today's QF.

Dementieva (4) vs. S. Williams (2) Extremely pessimistic, and not just in a ZOMG my faves will all lose!1!!/Murphy's Law sense. Irrelevant, just like in 2007. Unless a miracle happens. Should Dementieva, Elena win the Australian Open of 2009, I will drive to Fátima and light a candle there. Evidence of that will be posted on this board. Men's title is for Nadal. There's nobody left who can beat him. I hope Roddick wins, as at least that will make for some good comedy.

Cheer up Leena your Russina's are thriving even without Maria. By the way Sharapova could have sleptwalked her way to the Oz title this year if she was there. Wow is women's tennis mediocre. Men's tennis on the other hand is really top heavy with great players.

By the way Sharapova could have sleptwalked her way to the Oz title this year if she was there. Alla Kudryavtseva? I don't care about Elena Vyacheslavovna's chances tonight nor am I going to be particularly emotionally involved. If Serena ends up winning the title, good for her and she's by far the greatest player of her generation, not that she isn't already. If no one can get themselves together at least so much to beat her playing like this, screw them.

It will work again for Dementieva! ;D And Boy I think Serena winning a close 3 set match against Elena would bother you more than an easy win for her. Because then we would hear how badly she played and still won.

And don't worry Elena will beat Serena tonight. Edna, I do agree with you about Serena being the greatest player of her generation. But she's not that much better than Justine Henin or Venus Williams.

Bahrami is really fun to watch. Don't hate. Geezers who are paid to fill time occasionally in slams... that must be the life.

Demented misses many BPs in epic Serena serving game. This is probably a portent of how the whole match will be.
