Will ALG-Momo get postponed? I hope not, this match will almost surely be comical.

I hope it won't be postponed! Meanwhile, Kendrick got past Bronze!

They are playing. Jil :red: Barrois takes the second set 6-1. Now watch her lose the third set with the same score!

They're playing? Thanks, I'll put on the SB.

I didn't think Momo would go out to ALG. Dulko, yes. But not 1R. She is probably praying for the dark. The daaaaark!

Shame on me, Barrois won. Yay.
Gröni is playing quite well but that might change any minute.

ALG crushes MauMau. MauMau wasn't even that bad compared to her other RG 1r performances but ALG was damn good.

I kept waiting for ALG to implode and start spraying her shots all over the place, but it never happened. Weird. Very well played, ALG! Will Mauresmo be back here next year?

Dang! This is what happens when I go take a nap when Amelie's playing at RG. Oh, well, I'm really happy for ALG, especially hearing from you guys that she played really well instead of just being the lucky beneficiary of an Amelie fright-fest.

Wow! GoDom said over at the world:
"Probably the best match ALG has played in her career, definitely her most mature performance. I'm impressed."
Actually I know GoDom is here, too, but I've lost track of his user name here. But this statement coming from him is impressive and makes me hope we can see some fun upsets coming from ALG soon.

C'mon Janie, who else cares about ALG and Barrois in this world.
Is ALG still gargantuan.

No, Corswandt said she looked better at Estoril.
Probably no one does care much about ALG, but I want her to succeed just to piss off that odious de la Mora guy or whatever his name is.

ALG is pretty huge. It's not as bad as it was a few years ago, but she still looks like two Amelies, or four Sequeras.

Yeah, her last 12 months have been a nice "F U" to Font de Mora, supplemented by Shaughnessy entering every Slam with her PR only to pull out right after the entry list comes out.
So many sad stories in women's tennis.
Anyway. I wonder if ALG can keep it up against steady, boring Dulko. ALG was junior champ here and a former QFist in the main draw...she clearly has lots of good RG experiences to feed off of; maybe she can make something out of this draw.

I don't really care about ALG but it was kinda nice to see that she finally seems to be at peace with herself. She is pretty huge but that's her 'natural' shape I guess. She might have played more impressive matches before but that was pure ball-bashing without any plan.

Well I'm thrilled any time a pure ballbasher becomes a ballbasher with a plan. That's just about the best we can hope for in women's tennis any more! Sadly, that's exactly the evolution that Mirjana Lucic seems to be unable to make. Which is why she's in the Carson 50K this week and ALG is back in the top 50, beating former a #1 in a Slam.

I'm watching BAG-Errani. Shockingly, this match is terrible.
I think Sara's strategy is to top every FH so much, that it bounces over the opponent's head.
And it's pointless to keep hitting to Ana's laughable BH, when she hits a short ball and you purposely ensure that you can never do anything with a short ball.
And, :deadhorse:, this player won RG last year??!! Really??!! AJDE AJDE AJDE Oh she's so positive and pretty blah blah blah graaarr

BAG did pick it up in that 2nd set, though. Glad I missed the first one.

Simon won. Good. We're not really going to start calling him Twighlight, are we?

No.
Besides, when I hear Twilight, I think of Stephenie Meyer pretending her fat ass is really Bella.
And there are no pale, dark haired players that look like Kristen Stewart. The end.

Simon won. Good. We're not really going to start calling him Twighlight, are we? I certainly wouldn't call him that, as your alternative (Canadian?) spelling of it has like 13 more letters, and I have things to do. But I will keep calling him Twilight, because YAY.

Yeah, I totally just made that spelling up.

Post by DBBN on May 25, 2009 8:28:11 GMT -5
Oh. I liked it. I thought it was more proper. But it's still way too long and I'm too old to remember another spelling, so I was going to discard it anyway.

I'm probably going to keep using it.
