Anyway, we're probably going five, and I'm going DMV.

Pony tanking this set now and saving energy.

He has absolutely no idea what to do with the heavy kick serves to his backhand. Wait, you mean it's not just when his bete noire Nadal does it? You mean it's an actual weakness in his game? THAT CAN'T BE. Rafa doesn't hit many kick serves to Roger, because it would go high to his forehand.

It's funny to see Rog going to the dropshot so much!

Rog broke to start the 5th, Del Pony broke back mid-set but was immediately broken again, nearly lost a 40-0 lead on his own serve at *3-5 but saved a match point, and now Fed will serve for it.

There we go!
Well, for four matches we feared and anticipated would be blowouts, we didn't do so badly. What a terrific RG this is.

Wow! I might watch that when Tennis Channel shows it at 4.
Soderling's going to be tough to beat if he plays the way he did at the end of that match today.

Soderling randomly winning RG would be the most awesome thing since.... that time that Tojo randomly won a slam. And I don't even particularly love Soderling, as far as I recall. Nonetheless, it's moot - Federer will probably win.

While I'll be happy for Fed winning the career Slam, a part of me wants him to lose so I can rub it in all the Fedtards' faces. Soderling winning would be bizzare - which makes it cool.
I too ended up missing the semis because I had plans throughout.

If Robin plays like he has in the last 4 matches, I like his chances.
This is much better. Tojo didn't even beat a top 20 player until Marat sucked hard against him. There's nothing cheap about Robin's road to the final. He's earned it.

Agreed. I wasn't meaning to imply that he's floated to the final on a weak draw. Merely that, given what we knew at the start of the tournament, Soderling in the final is random. Well earned, but random.
