That's a cool draw. I'm sure it will be SRO for Lurch vs. The Hair!

Lindsay Lee-Waters in a Slam again!

I know everyone here will be thrilled to learn that Lee-Waters won her match. Straight sets! Fichman fell dismally to Brianti, 26 16. So Wimbledon lasted, what, 45 minutes for her? Cavaday carries the Brits through a round, defeating Mt. Fuji resoundingly, 0 & 3 , but the other British Naomi, that would be Broady, fell to Diatchenko. Neuza Silva does the Portuguese proud with a win, which reminds me -- I guess we've lost Corswandt for good? That's too bad.

Both qualies seem weirdly uneventful for some reason. Still, I might go down tomorrow or Thursday. I want to see a Rodionova meltdown in person.

Malek def. Rodionova. Tatjana has played herself back into Top 100 rather quickly, which is nice. I hope she makes it into MD.

LLW If I go, it'll be tomorrow. LLW plays Nakamura, which horrifyingly means that she has a good chance of making the MD. Maybe I shall boo. Was surprised that Nakamura beat Hercog until I remembered that Polona played on clay last week. This grass-phobia is so pathetic.

<< Just caught the end of the Mervana Jugic-Salkic v Klara Zakopalova match. When one of Klara's shots landed just inside the line, Jugic-Salkic complained to anyone who was listening: "It's a joke, it’s a joke she needs to play bingo today she would win a million dollars she is so lucky". >> -- Wimby site. Yes, this was surely the only reason she lost 2 & 1. Through so far: Brianti Sevastova Thundah OudinNakamura over Lee The ZakMalek Kutuzova (who killed Perry ) Kulikova

Well, I bailed today, because I have too much work to do. With the closest match being Thunder's 3 and 5 win over If U Seek Abigail, that doesn't seem such a bad decision. Four bagels so far!

I see that all the remaining US women except Oudin bit the dust. Does our nation have a particular problem with ? Still a great run from Lindsay Lee, playing in her first Slam Qs since US Open 2005, according to big fan Frazier~Force. I can't even imagine the amount of patience and hard work it must have taken to get back to this level -- her year-end rankings in the interim were: 2006: 612 2007: 455 2008: 324 I sure wouldn't have been able to stick it out with that glacial level of progress. Actually even glaciers are now moving faster than Lindsay did, in this age of global warming!
