After the wonderful Day One everything has gone downhill. Awful results all over the place. The only decent result today has been Bammer winning, and that says something!

Wow! If Iveta wins this and then loses in the next round to Hingis, PierceCheng will have discontent.

Knowing Tina, she's thinking about how badly she would have beaten Pierce if Benesova could do it. CHELALA !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Chela stuns Hewitt in Melbourne Hewitt struggled with a string of unforced errors throughout
Lleyton Hewitt has crashed out of the second round of the Australian Open after a brutal four-set defeat at the hands of Juan Ignacio Chela.
The number three seed, who knocked out Chela in an acrimonious tie in Melbourne a year ago, was some way off his best against the Argentine.
But there was no bad blood this time as he crumbled to a 6-4 6-4 6-7 (8-10) 6-2 loss, despite the support of the crowd.
In his defence, Hewitt had struggled with a left ankle injury throughout.
Chela, who also received treatment from the trainer for cramp in the fourth set, had earlier knocked out Briton Andy Murray in the first round.
After his second win of the week, Chela said: "I'm really happy - he's a big fighter and he showed that by winning the fourth set."
The Argentine dominated the match throughout and comfortably held off an out-of-sorts Hewitt in the first set.
His rival, however, looked set to level proceedings in the second set when he moved to 3-1 but he was twice broken to lose the advantage and silence the crowd at the Rod Laver Arena.
It was virtually a mirror image in the third as Hewitt went 3-0 up before being dragged back to a tie-break.
It was then, and only then, that the former world number one showed his best form, although it took him seven break points to take the set.
But that was where Hewitt's challenge effectively ended, as his ankle, which had to be treated by the trainer, clearly troubled him.
When Chela moved to 3-0 up, he never looked in danger of losing, despite slight cramp, and sealed the win with his one and only match point.

Am grudgingly becoming a Benesova fan ... I always admire lower-ranked girls who don't pull the Pous-Tio/Fujiwara choke when they get ahead of a top player.
So will Iveta be the one with the guts to take out Kim Cripple, or will she be done in by pity, nerves, or the crowd?

Pierce UEs were awful especially at crucial moments. I hate to say it's Mary losing the match. Iveta was good enough to send the ball back to Mary's court so she could have another UE flying off her racket. OK, Iveta did have some good return of serve that kissed the corners but we know how good Mary moves on court

Iveta does blow. She's the ultimate jobber to the stars. She can't even beat players like Demented when they suck. I can't believe Mary lost this match. I fear this will send her back to fatness, injuries, and mediocre results.

What about her Peace of Mind she's always going on about? If that's real, Mary should weather this dumb loss without sinking into a quagmire. I think she'll be fine.

oops, my mistake about iveta vs cripple. I really ought to look at the draw once in a while (and to think I used to print them out and fill them out as the rounds went on! ;D ) Anyway, Crip's next opponent is Vinci. Probably another girl who will crumble; I sure don't recall her having any big wins.

Vinci did beat Patty in one of those indoor tournies. And Myskina and Bepa I think in Eastbourne. But, grass is her favorite surface. And she's fairly fun to watch. But bitch Kim will win. She's so sweet!

That child should be moved up to #1! This brilliance of that coup was cancelled by the child's Asagoe and Safarova picks. He's in first place if he goes with Patty or Franny instead of one of those floaters.
