I am watching MONTANES. He's going to live up to his seeding somehow... this is very wrong. I am convinced that Wimbledon is played on clay now. To be fair, those four players are all terrible. The best grass-courter out of them was probably the qualifier.

Four match points thrown away. I would care more if I had any sort of admiration for Dulko, but I don't like her either. Still, it would be nice if she could get this chick out.

Three perfect challenges in this game for Dulko! It's safe to say that's the best part of her game.
MP #5!! And she wins!!

So. The player bumped from #59 to #24 goes out in the second round for the second year in a row.
Have some more gin, fuckers.

Sharapova's easy miss when she had BP in the last game was hilarious: the squeal rising to an intolerable volume, and its sudden deflation when that final shot hit the net.
Dulko played really well to get to 40-15, and the first three MPs Sharapova just played spectacularly on, but then she started to choke and needed Shriek errors to get over the finishing line. Doesn't matter! A good upset.

"Dulko dumps Sharapova out of Wimbledon after an epic final game! The Argentine lands two fierce forehands on the baseline to leave her opponent helplessly appealing, but to no avail. Dulko plants the first of two match points into the net, before Sharapova plays a sublime drop shot winner to force deuce. The Russian then lands a stunning backhand winner on the line to save a third, but squanders a break point, finding the net. Dulko successfully overrules a line call, before Sharapova goes long with a forehand!"

Meanwhile, Azarenka hands Olaru a bagel. Robredo up 4-1 in the 5th. Willy fighting back now vs Monty.

Wow, Gise is not just a pretty face after all! I'm gobsmacked! Wimby seeding committee, take that! :ass:

Boredo came back. Now he has a big chance to make his first ever R16 at Wimbledon...which means he probably won't. It's a miracle IRO won a round on grass...I expect another bagel in the second.

Wow, Gise is not just a pretty face after all! I'm gobsmacked! Wimby seeding committee, take that! Dulko made the 3R last year...actually someone at The World pointed out that she's beaten Davenport, Navratilova, Dokic, and now Sharapova at Wimbledon. Dulko is just the type of player with absolutely nothing special who will beat players playing poorly and lose to players playing well. She's a yardstick, a metronome, the Prime Meridian, the earth's core, I dunno.

I just read that Gise was "oozing confidence"! Apparently she never read the WTA playbook that stipulates she must ooze chokeability in set 3. It's ridiculous how happy this result is making me. Plus, it's starting to get hot outside, which is where I've been the past 2 days, so I think I'll start watching Wimbledon on tv! Thank you so much for losing and thus sparking my interest, Maria! Plus, my sister has left town for a week and her house and tv are all mine.

If they hadn't bumped Sharapova's seeding, I probably wouldn't have smiled about her loss until sometime tomorrow. As it is: Wimbledon, meet egg. You two must be well acquainted by now. Now, back to Chuck.

One more thing - beating useless Sharapova at Wimbledon ought to be good for another useless magazine spread for Dulko. Good for her. Money is money.

It's a miracle IRO won a round on grass...I expect another bagel in the second. Ipek def. Maikiri, sort of (doubs). Good for DGT to finish Dent in 5. ;D Ratiwatana twins win. Dudi! Well done by the Prak-PAK tandem -- a tough 5 set win over the 16th seeds!

Prak-Pak, woohoo! I agree with Chloe that the Wimbledon seeding fiasco makes Dulko's "upset" (as they keep calling it, even though she's the higher ranked player) extra satisfying. Though I admit I would have enjoyed it under any circumstances.

Nando and Vliegen go 45 games without a break of serve, then Nando just hits some huge shots and breaks for the match

Maria lost. I knew this would happen if I left - but its all good because I had a good time with my friends AND she lost to a hottie. Now, if Dulko could only beat that repulsive Petrova - which will never happen, sadly.

Well done by the Prak-PAK tandem -- a tough 5 set win over the 16th seeds! PAK-Prak. They play the winner of Garcia Lopez/Navarro vs Junaid (AUS not PAK)/Marx, which looks do-able. They're in a tough quarter though - Bhupathu/Knowles being the seed.

Roby vs A-Pav was a v entertaining match - Roby's slices, volleys and dropshots were all working to perfection. Still don't get the fuss around A-Pav, she's talented but she just doesn't do anything particular special. Awful shot selection at times too - after coming back from a break down to force a TB, on a crucial point midway through she hit an overhead which Roby just got back...and of course hit the next overhead straight at Roby, who had a million years to prepare to hit a perfect lob.

(I'm not taking it up.)

Soderling blows three setpoints in the TB - its 6-6. Routine errors from Granollers 7-6 up and a service winner give Soderling the TB.
