You wouldn't think Pennetta could best Mauresmo at Wimbledon, but Amelie could lose to anybody nowadays. Flavia's 2'n'2 win over King suggests she's in good form. Wozniacki v. AMG 3r. Why? I hope Lisicki beats Kuznetsova. The top quarter could be taken by anybody at this point. Venus v. CSN rematch. Stosur almost lost! I have half a mind to think Ivanovic will beat her, then. Very sad loss for Peng. Na Li is my dark horse, she won easily over Govortsova. I think she can pick up Peng and beat A-Rad. Oudin d. Jankovic would be most sweet. Today was Hewitt's best win in years. I've never heard of his 3r opponent. Ferrer-Stepanek after that ... it's hard to imagine a better path to a quarterfinal for him. But it's no sure thing. Murray played well today. Troicki is a decent player who might make a set or possibly two in the 3r. But I'm looking at Wawrinka as the spanner in the Murray works, if there is going to be one.

Remember Flavia crushing Amelie at USO last year. I think she beats her again.

You know... the Brit girls are obsessed with records, and their opponents' rankings, and their own rankings. Maybe this is why whenever they get in these positions (winnable big matches, cracking the Top 100), they choke. They need to learn to play the damn tennis and if they win, milestones will come, regardless. The Australian girls have the same problem. Maybe it's a PC thing - they want to show that they know and respect their opponents, and try not to look narrow-minded and/or disdainful by saying something that amounted to "She's just some wog with a funny name".

Nearly forgot: credit for the local sports channel for hopping from court to court for a while rather than show Pushniacki.
