I really think way too much is being made of Nole's "decline". A lot of it seems like wishful thinking after the USO incident. He's regressed slightly, but he's hardly in freefall.
Cirstea actually did a lot better than I thought she would.

I guess with ESPN thinking, where slams only matter, Nole has been pathetic for a year. Meh.

Also, can we please STFU about Michael Jackson. I don't care what Serena thinks about him. If I want to hear fantard babbling about a child molester, I can turn on any of the other 259 channels I have. Thank you.

Yeah, I was fairly sure La Razz would come through. Though she might yet chump up like she did at RG.
Thought Demented would almost certainly be upset, what with her slumping and dangerous draw and her mediocre 1R play, but she was REALLY sharp vs Rezai and Kulikova. SF, then 2 and 4 to Silliams.

I picked WozCan to beat La Razz, and ED to win through, though with difficulty. This Fran resurgence throws a wrench into everything though...she has much more experience deep in Slams than La Razz, and has a decent H2H against ED...

Why don't we like Haas? He's old, broken, hard luck story, and he plays a nice game.
So ... what a fun day! Cibulkova loses to Vesnina! That was big! Great win for Elena. Excellent.
Can she take a shot at Dementieva? I hope so, but it seems Elena D. is kicking ass right now. Somehow.
Poor Vera. I hope it's not serious?
Razzano-Schiavone fourth round. That is a joke, right? And lovely seeing Bartoli totally tank the second set. That's why I don't like her at all.
I was surprised Cirstea was able to get so close to Aza.
What the f is up with Petrova's dress?
I imagine Hantuchova will not repeat the Serena-beating of '06 Australia.
Nice couple wins for Sela. I'm a bit surprised to see him get this far. Nole should be too solid, of course.
I'd love to see Haas win that match with Cilic. Whatever the case, that's a wide open bracket for any of those four guys.
I wonder whether Tsonga was hurt by that second round walkover. Don't look now, but Ivo could make a quarterfinal here!
Soderling promised to beat Federer next time, and here it is. I think he's got a ghost of a chance.

Also, the crowd are getting on Azza's back. I have had enough of this. They either ban the shrieking or stop giving shit to players on account of it. Shrieky Vicky wouldn't be a crowd favourite even if she wasn't so loud though. So, I don't think Fish has much of a chance against Djokovic, no matter how much ESPN tries to convince me otherwise. I thought he had a shot. Nole's game looks so un-grasscourt-ish. But from what I saw of the match, Fish won next to no baseline rallies. Nole played him much like Federer plays Roddick.
