It's over. Praise Allah.
It's funny how NBC allowed ESPN to show the conclusion of Safina's match. Openly admitting that nobody gives a shit about her, and thinks she has .00001% chance of being competitive in the SF.

Ree vs Azza is going to be spectacular, I feel it.

So our faint hopes of an interesting QF day now rest on the shoulders of ... Azza?

Azza has to do something here as this is our last hope.
But, with the way both have played here, this should be a boring 3 & 2 like match.

Frannie blew hard. Sad to come this far and put up such a stinker. Especially against Demented, who she had decent success against.

It's a shame that Serena so rarely shows this desire and form.
Also, I'd totally do Azza. I have no idea why.

Shame these two had to play in the QF. And Azza had to catch Ree while in Jesus mode. Seriously, fuck the Williamz for only showing this like once a year. And this will cease in the final.
Azza did as well as she could. I'm calling it, she'll be #1 a year from now.

Mmm. I'm not so sure about #1. I mean, at this time, it could be anyone, so why not. But I'm not totally sold that she'll be consistent enough.
She will probably make a Slam final soon though...maybe the next one where the Williams sisters are on the same side. USO?

Consistency is the only concern. Vika has a complete game with no glaring weaknesses, which no other full-time players can boast. Her return game today finally sold me. I think she won't end up a huge choker like the rest, either. There's something about her... Vika is a cocky, confident bitch.
And I'm hopeful that Safina's reign of suck ends. Now, plz. How the hell does she have double points of the rest of scrubs.

Yeah, she doesn't have a Slam title. But not only is she holding FIVE large-point titles (Madrid, Rome, PPO, Montreal, LA) as well as silver-medal Olympic points, her Slam record is SF F F SF. That's a lot of damn points.
I think we forgot how well she did during last year's summer hardcourt season. She might come back down to earth...

Vika impressed me with how consciously she kept her emotions together. No meltdowns and no going away even though with Serena in that form, it must have been extra frustrating.
Pamela asserting that Safina always plays well in Slam SFs. No. RG 08, Sweta was dreadful. US 08, she won 5 games. AO 09, yes, though vs Bepa. RG 09, only because SexyDomi ran out of gas.

I know what Safina has won, it's just hard to see how she's done it. She's really been dominant outside of the slams. Also, she's earned thousands of points with "fighting" wins. Playing like shit, yet winning tough, tight matches. Then, she's the complete opposite when it matters in slams. To conclude, Dinara needs to go away.

She could still get past that sometime. JH was a choker, and she overcame it. Safina needs her own St. Kim to spur her on!
