Fucking NBC. This is America in 2009. We still can't do anything right.

MY totally awesome feed has now been replaced by relatively mediocre feed. Still sad.

From everything I can piece together Roddick is playing this perfectly, taking it to Murray and going often to net at key points, even if he sucks there sometimes, and agressive on the return. He might not win but I think playing assertively is his only chance.

woohoo! Congrats to Roddick! And Henman gets to keep the better Wimby record (3 SFs, I think) for one more year.

Played like a pussy till matchpoint. Well done, fucking pussy. Well maybe he is a pussy; did you ever think of that? Ofcourse he is! All my faves are: Hingis, Seles, Murray. But losing to...ugh....Roddick. I'd have preferred Hewitt in the final. Roger will rape him, regardless.

I don't think Murray is a pussy. Sage Brinyi's analysis above was correct.
I'm disappointed because a Roddick-Federer final doesn't interest me. Federer WILL win. A Murray-Federer final would have been of interest for a set and a half or so.

Even though I've never been big on Roddick, it was nice to see some genuine, not over-the-top joy over making it to the final.

The winner to UE stats on this match are fantastic, from both guys. OTOH Murray's 2nd serve speed looks really bad on paper, but maybe he's got a lot of kick in it? Anyway, very sad to have missed this one, and the outcome was a real surprise for me. Though I agree that it does make for a much more boring final.

Post-stabbing Monica was always getting her backside handed to her by the top girls on tour and more often than not, never fared well (see: losses to M.Hingis, WilliamsX2, Ms. L.A Davenport). But, tigress Monica was second to none.

The BBC stream died in the last game of the first set. So I went round a friends house, thus missing the first three games of the second set. I take it those were the good bits.

Fuck you, Murray. Even though that was the best I've seen Roddick play in a fair few years, particularly at the net he was solid. But, he was still there for the taking. Murray was just too passive.
Can't remember the last time a tennis match pissed me off this much.

Roddick played well, easily the best I've ever seen him play at net... but, it was still a match Muzza should have won. He played hoping Andrew would miss. That's playing into his hands. I assume the moment got to Muzza, because in previous matches he dominated Andrew from the backcourt. It's a great matchup since Muzza can negate Roddick's bug serving. Oh, well.
No, it's just weak, period. He doesn't put much spin on it, it's easy to read, and really just a softer 1st serve. Remember that Muzza's serve was useless when he started on the main tour, he had no coordination and was content pushing it in. He's beefed up the power in the 1st serve, but it will probably always be a weakness for him.

I thought Andy Roddick looked the veteran today and Andy Murray acted like Andy Roddick several years ago. I was impressed with Roddick - he was calm, he was aggressive, he didn't get distracted. He left the cursing and screaming and jawing with the chair to Murray. Better still, he hit the ball with authority and went after the baseline rallies. He beat Murray from the baseline today, which hardly anybody would've given him a chance at. He also couldn't have done this a few years back when Connors had him playing too passively. I was happy for him.
Murray needs to beef up his second serve. Honestly, Wawrinka should've beaten him. Murray's probably the best baseliner on tour, with the possible exception of Rafa. However, he needs to do like Rafa and get a second serve - that would make him a multi-Slam winner.
But as it is, I still expect him to get a Slam soon.
Anyway, yay for Andy. A fifth Grand Slam final. Not so bad ...

Yup, Leena spot on with the analysis of that horrible match. Am wondering if it's a minor Slam issue (five-sets issue?) for Murray - it's not the first that he's gone in as co-favourite only to underwhelm. In the context of his non-Slam results, the fact that he hasn't even made it as far as playing Federer/Nadal/Djokovic in any of Slams this year yet is disappointing.
Weirdly I think both Demented and Murray have a great shot at the USO now. The Demented loss still pisses me off, but let's be real - she'd only have been handed another Slam final loss. Playing so far above anyone's expectations on her least favourite surface, she'll surely have so much more confidence at her best Slam. And we keep thinking she's blown her last chance, but she keeps coming back again and again. And it does seem that she's actually still improving in every respect - consistency, mentality, everything.

5 sets was an issue for Muzza before this year. He's fit enough now. It comes down to him learning to win these tough matches, and it wasn't long ago that he was a whiny cunt. And this Wimbledon was a new experience for Muzza. He's too good not to win multiple slams, eventually.
As much as I rag on Demented, rightfully so for her predictable choking and sucking, it would be a shame if she never won a slam. For this entire decade, all she's done is consistently improved the many maladies of her game. But, I'm not optimistic. The odds of her defeating a Williams in New York is about .01%. And Elena will probably be retired before they're gone.
