That's a great party for our Cypriot! I just hope that spinning head is not his own!

So, in the Mixed, they are playing a full 3rd set here? Did they always do that at the AO? In any case, Hingie and Bhupathi scraped through 7-6 in the 3rd. Hope it wasn't too tiring for Martina! She already said she was tired in the 2nd set of her Stosur match. I am sure the Crip read that and knows her stamina is not what it needs to be. She also came right out in the PC and said all the players know to attack her FH. Well, if they didn't know that, they do now, Martina! I'm sure Mahesh was under orders to cover nine-tenths of the court. ;D

From the BBC site:
"The crucial point in the fifth set came when Baghdatis, forced wide of the tramlines by a Ljubicic backhand, whipped a stunning forehand cross court to break serve and take a 3-1 lead."

Reeeeeeeeeeeeally starting to blow. Honestly, this is a winnable match for Lindsay. But she is blowing! Blllllllllllllllowing! It really was. But, when Lindsay doesn't serve well, bad things ensue. Including grouchiness in the 3rd set, that we haven't seen much from her lately. As a positive, at least this was a better effort from her than the last 2 AO losses to Justine. Because women's tennis sucks. I mean, it's a simple shot to hit. It's just a different technique from everything else. I find it hilarious that Kim NEVER hits overheads. And it doesn't help when certain black players' never hit lobs.

Sigh....Lindsay. I got up at 3:15 to watch this match, and I'm not as angry as I thought I'd be, but I'm more sad. Lindsay showed why she is just not going to win a slam again unless something really changes with her mentally. Nearly fifty unforced errors in a "short" three set match is just God awful. The match was very winnable. She had Justine pinned between a rock and a hard place after the first set. But the way her level dropped off was just astonishing. What was sad was that even in the third set when she came back from 0-2 to 2-2, and beyond that when she really looked like she was going to get back on serve, it was so obvious she had no self-belief. She didn't tank the match like she used to, that wasn't the case at all, actually. She tried, but she just never thought she could do it. The most telling part of that set was when Lindsay hit a clean shot dead on the baseline - literally, all of the ball hit the baseline, wasn't even close to out - and it was called out, and she didn't even fight it. Didn't even look to the chair. And I think at that point it was 2-3, the match wasn't gone by any means. Same thing happened on another point in the next game, her shot was in, called out, and she didn't say a thing. And she wasn't injured. It was really a very sad match to watch if you're a Lindsay fan.

That 2nd ball was out. I know Shotspot looked it may have nicked the line... but on slo-mo, it was out.
The match was winnable... but, some credit has to be given to Justine. When she gets used to the power of Lindsay early in the rallies, Justine is simply the better player. The only hope for Lindsay after the 1st set was to get hot with the serve... which, obviously didn't happen. And I think Lindsay knew that as well. If every point she has to win is in rallies with Chrissy... she knows she's not gonna win.

Obviously credit to Justine. Her defense was amazing last night. But, I don't feel like she played all that well, which is why the match was so winnable for Lindsay. In the third, Lindsay couldn't convert on BPs, and had real issues on her own game points. If she did a decent job at that, they would be at least even at 4-4.
If Lindsay is playing well, she wins alot of those rallies. She still overpowers anyone on her best days.

Oh well.
Will Lindsay show up for RG? And mention how much she hates Europe, and has no chance of winning, and she's here for no reason, and she really wants to start a family.

She'll do what she did last year.
Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. I hate Europe. I'm skipping RG. Whatever. I'm off to Mexico. I love Leach. Blah, blah, blah...
Then, she'll show up, and pull out a bullshit QF.
She pulled out of Tokyo. This looks like Tina's tournament now.

I think Maria is still playing, though.
And Serena is on the list, but I'll assume she's already in Cali fucking some black guy.

Serena pulled out. The #2 seed is Dementieva, #3 Myskina. :tape:
