Yeah, that was good to see. If JJ is going to play that way then I can't root for her, so go Shved. Though I can't stand players in sunglasses for some reason!

Lisicki led 5-2 against Rodionova, who turned it around and won 7-5. On MP, Lisicki fell and twisted her ankle. Rodionova just put away the ball in empty court. Lisicki is still on the ground crying.

Oh. My. God. I can't believe Shvedova won this by making a smash (!) and then serving an ace (!!!).
Two horrible points from Jankovic before though.
So glad that Demented is gone.
And my prediction on the Safina match was accurate. Sadly.

Lisicki led 5-2 against Rodionova, who turned it around and won 7-5. On MP, Lisicki fell and twisted her ankle. Rodionova just put away the ball in empty court. Lisicki is still on the ground crying. On a day of exciting tennis it was sad to see Lisicki blow her match and seriously injure her left ankle in the process. I hope it's not as bad an injury as it looked because that girl needs to stay healthy so she can fulfill her vast potential and big upside. Great comeback win for Rodianova against Lisicki though. Rodianova is very cool and fun to watch.

It looks like JJ's grandmother died last night. She looked pissed off/whiney/frustrated/listless so many times before that I really didn't think something was going on, but I guess she had enough reasons to be like that today.

If it wasn't for K-Bond, I'd be rooting for A-Rod in that section as well, mainly because she's batshit crazy and it would be a nice "screw you" to the WTA Tour, who consistently fines her. You know what else is nuts? If Pennetta loses tomorrow, Ivanovic returns to the Top Ten, unless something really insane/Petrova happens.

Maria played a solid match against McHale. Although Masha had too many double faults again. Maria gave a really nice on court interview after the match. She gave a detailed answer about the potential of Christina McHale and Masha looked so happy. It's like Maria's personality has changed and gotten sunnier.

You know what else is nuts? If Pennetta loses tomorrow, Ivanovic returns to the Top Ten, unless something really insane/Petrova happens. Petrova doesn't even have to happen especially, just do her usual thing of 4R then pathetic loss to Shriek. And if Flavia loses, this will be enough for Nadezhda with her one MM SF this year to return to the top 10 Luckily, I think Zheng has a more-than-decent shot at her And...if Ooh! Damn! plays like she did against Demented...dare I dream. I think I'll support Shvedova in that section, though I pretty much like all of them and that Rodionova murdering spree is probably the least embarrassing scenario.

That said, Oudin seems to be one of the best USians to come along in quite a while. What is her game style? Baseline grinder/counterpuncher ( stricto sensu) with flat strokes. A bit like Cibulkova. Hits with (even) less power arguably, but makes up for hit by hitting a flat, penetrating ball. I assume she has a better transition/net game than the Europushers of Generation Suck as well - US players usually do.
