I think the crowd is going to push Oudin through.

If Woz doesn't reach the final, surely it would be the first time in a Slam we could have a WC vs unseeded final?

Yeah...Oudin is the kind of player that Wozniacki feeds on. Oudin is a B-rate version of her. Slightly more aggressive, but if Wozniacki could withstand the Sweta barrage, she can surely withstand Oudin.
If K-Bond continues to be on fire...no. Silliams/Pushniacki final it is.

WozDen, easily. She beats this type of crap every week.
And Oudin will be lucky to win 5 games. Like lex says, Oudin is a lesser version. And lesser versions always get killed.

Man, this is the best Slam ever.
Na Li versus Wickmayer! Yes, yes, yes!

"Oudin will pull off another remarkable three set victory." "Bondarenko will take care of Wickmayer in two sets and enter her first Grand Slam semifinal."
Hmm. Has anyone ever seen Burley and Matt Cronin at the same place at the same time?

Prescient.
I'll predict the rest of the scores to show how right I am.
WozDen d Wickmayer 61 75. Silliams d. Ste. Kim 63 63. Silliams d. WozDen 61 61.

Silliams d. WozDen 61 61. I don't think it will be that much of a beatdown. Serena only plays "shock and awe" when it's a grudge match for her and she feels the need to make a point. She has nothing against "Caro", so she'll rally like she did with Pennetta and "Caro" will probably win a couple more games. And even if "Caro" is indeed humiliated the way she should, that will hardly bring any comfort. The "Caro" vs "Believe" match went further towards turning me off from women's tennis than any other previous match I had seen.

Well then the Wozniacki/Wickmayer match should turn you back on to women's tennis because it should be a very good match with 2 young hungry players vying for their first grand slam final. And their contrasts in style in their tennis will be interesting to see.

I only have it at 1.42. Oh well. With this and the Patriots obviously killing my sorry ass Bills, I look to be in riches this weekend.

Serena knows cruise control will be much more than adequate and will just serve huge and that's about it. 6-3 6-3 sounds about right.

Borzniacki will be puffballing down the middle of the court and Wickmayer doesn't have enough power to consistently hit through her from the baseline over the course of a match. The stats will be something like the New Haven final. The only fun Borzniacki matches are those she gets embarrassed in.

I think Adequate Serena still wins by a convincing scoreline. The 3 finals I've seen "Sunshine" in, against in-form power players, 2 of which she played decent quality, suggests she will be slaughtered.

But it's a shame her game is so underestimated. Maybe she will prove you wrong in the final if she makes it there that is.

There's a real chance that Wozniacki will fail to get past Wickmayer. Not only will it be the most important match of her life, she will go in as the favourite. It's a tricky situation against a girl with nothing to lose.
What will work in her favour is the likelihood that the match will be played in front of 8 people, and she can convinve herself it's the Pattaya 1R.

I'll never be able to root for anyone called Sunshine. If only "Cloudy and Overcast" Justine would return to the Tour!
Speaking of Sunshine, am I the only one who is reminded of the annoying game of post-return Hingis when watching her?

I disagree that Yanina has nothing to lose. Even she has to realize that this draw is a once in a lifetime scenario. But, she's also a good player that I'm sure thinks she has the game to win the whole thing.
Somewhat. Although, Sunshine rarely hits angles or hits with any variety. When Hingis played disciplined like Woz, which lasted about 3 months, she was very tough. But, she quickly got frustrated with big babes bombing her off the court.

Yes, facing WozDen in a Slam 1/2 final doesn't happen every day.

The difference is having people say: - "Wicky, You got to the semis and lost to the first top ten player you faced, that's a very good run and you should be proud of yourself." - "Wozzie, you miserable weed, you lost to Wickmayer?"

The scheduling snafu may have given Pushniacki a shot at the title.
Let's imagine that the Kim-Serena SF is long and grueling (while Wick-Woz will take 70-80 mins at most). Serena may falter if she's forced into playing long matches in consecutive days; that she rarely has to do so at the Slams is yet another of the reasons for her successes there.
