Whoa. Azza played great against Jovanovski, so this is somewhat surprising. Although, BoJo is a good matchup for her as she was basically playing a mini version of herself, Kvitova is a totally different kind of deal.

Maria Sharapova is very famous and earns a lot of money. This is an important point, so I might have to repeat it. Maybe fifty times.

Kvitova played really well when I saw her on Thu. She's got fitter, can actually play defence now and looked pretty comfortable on the grass. BarbOra tantrums on my TV!

Oh, and Ferrer/Chardy was a pretty good match. Chardy totally collapsed after trying to serve for it. I'm surprised he broke through at RG, his groundstrokes seem unstable (though his FH is a big weapon when it lands in) but he has the bug serve and good volleys that suit grass. Two DFs serving at *5-6 in the 5th, including on MP, though...definitely one of those French headcases. BarbOra on her knees and yelling!

Rafa is 2 sets to 1 down again. WTF? Made a couple of very uncharacteristic errors in the tie-break.

Petzschner playing really well right now. Huge serves, huge FHs.

According to his wiki page, Petzschner's nickname is "The Schnorer"

Petzschner was looking tired before Rafa's injury timeout, but since it he's just fallen off a cliff.

Rafa received a warning for coaching. He's not happy about it and even had some words with the umpire.

Rafa survives a 5-setter again, but his future in this tournament is not optimistic. Mathieu is next.

These five-setters are going to come back and bite him in the ass next week. Which is too bad, because I've been rooting for him (except when he plays Muzza in the SF).

I WENT TODAY. AND SAW LINDSAY DAVENPORT FROM THE FIRST ROW OMG.
Got into CC for the last set and a bit of the Murray match - I don't know if it's because I was there but that fourth set was very, VERY good stuff from both. Some of the rallies were incredible... I reeeeeally wanted it to go to a TB but Andrew was extremely sharp.
Report to come tomorrow.

Lindsay was as slow as I've ever seen her today... but the groundies are still there. Watching her over the past two days, maybe singles would be better. She just slams that ball, and the majority of the time it goes in, which is more than can be said of the other girls lately.
Bob really blew in their two matches. I'm curious as to how she'll do in California this summer.

Rafa received a warning for coaching. He's not happy about it and even had some words with the umpire. It has to happen from time to time. Otherwise, it becomes obvious that the officials either aren't paying attention, or aren't penalizing top players as they ought to. Rafa should be good on this one for another 6 months now.
