Wow, I'm watching the end of this Kuz-Fran match. Amazing points from both players! Why can't we see this sort of tennis more often on the women's side -- though 2 hours would be enough.

Lindsay: "Some of the best women's tennis I've seen in a very, very long time." So fitting that Franny finished it off at the net, too.

Ha. Got a text from a friend last night: "My cat always leaves the room when I watch Sharapova matches, I've noticed." Your friend's cat is awesome.

"Fatty, I have a positive feeling about Petkovic. She can beat Venus and Maria!"
My prognostication improves!

This has been by far the best day of the tournament for me! All the results went according to what is good and righteous in the universe.
Fran-Kuz. This match was just amazing. They went from rather so-so tennis in the beginning of the third set to good tennis to great tennis to astounding tennis. What heart from both players. I don't much care for Drysdale but he was right: it was a match you did not want to end because you could hardly stand to see one of those girls lose.
So I guess Franny, in her four matches so far, has won one 6-4 in the third, another 9-7 in the third and another 16-14 in the third.
Petko d. Maria was spectacular. Cliffie bemoaning Maria's title hopes was funny, too. Who, exactly, thought Sharapova could win this title going in?
Li Na! Big-time win over the Shriek. 3 and 3 is a very good score. She should beat Andrea and I'd think set up a match with Wozniacki. If you didn't take her seriously before, you gotta admit she's in with a chance to win now.
Wawrinka was very impressive. Straight sets! His game is really big. I actually think he CAN beat Roger. Fed isn't yet playing his best and Stan is. If I'm Fed, I want to play him during the day. The last time they played was indoors in Stockholm in the fall and Stan led 6-2 2-0 before losing.
Berdych v. Djokovic. I wasn't expecting Tomas to play this well after months of suckage. He is Super Czech once again. I favor Novak, though.

Kuznetsova's PC is hysterical. Some quick hits:
"Definitely have to do a lot of expenses. It's not like I have under my couch 17 million. You can come and check though."
"Which point are you talking about? At some stage I was like, what's the score? Who's serving? I was like, what's going on anyway here?
I had no clue sometimes. It was so hard to count. I was like, who is up? She? Me? It's really hard to say which point you're talking about right now. We had some good points at the net."
"Actually I'm happy my memory is not that good. I don't remember. My memory is pretty bad. Few times I just in few days I will just forget. Well, this match I won't forget for pretty long."
Q. Did you try to beat the record of Mahut and Isner?
SVETLANA KUZNETSOVA: I tried, but apparently didn't work. She finish it earlier than I thought.

I would imagine neither Sweta nor Fran have ever had to make up some nonsense about kangaroos.

I don't think Woz will be doing that when she's their age, either.

Every single person in the Australian media. Hrmph. Well, that and "Kangaroo-gate" is enough proof if any were needed that the Australian media are not the brightest.
