Did Rafa wasted set points in that 3rd set only to lose it in the tie-break? So now he's 2 sets down to Isner? I'm gonna be bitter and say that I hope all Rafa fans who wished him to lose to Novak to make things interesting, regret that now Rafa, Rafa *sigh* I can't, I just can't...

Don't worry yet, Lady! Rafa took the 4th set 62. How about that Vania King!

I am somewhat shocked at SexyDomi losing, especially after winning the first TB 12-10. Good for Vania, though. Don't particularly want her to fall off tour.
Rafa's just broken to love in the fifth. Would be shocked if this match has another twist in it.

I don't know; I wish I could feel that Rafa has it in the bag but it's still a little nervewracking. Good for Isner for making it stay that way, even though I wish he wouldn't.

I was really nervous on the way home. Rafa just wasn't convincing to me this year, especially on clay. Even when he was getting to those finals, his game was too passive and full of errors.
1st round loss would have been an embarrassment and very hard to get over mentally.
St.Kim has a very unusual hair for her.

Even Steffi lost a Wimbledon 1R! It wouldn't be the end of the world. Though yeah, embarrassing if it had been to Isner. Rafa's never lost a Slam 1R, right?
Dimitrov continuing to disappoint, I see. "Baby Fed" moniker works as far as both their early careers are concerned so far, anyway.

Even Steffi lost a Wimbledon 1R! Sampras did too! It happens. Though I'm glad it didn't happen this time as there's still a bit of a chance that Our Nole won't win the title. Jovanovski bashing well so far in the 2nd set.

Five sets with Isner doesn't do much for my belief in Rafa's title hopes. It reminds me of Fed going five with Falla in the first round of Wimbledon last year. You didn't really believe he would lose but it didn't fill you with confidence for the remainder of the tournament.
Nobody mentioned this result yet but Kubot d. Almagro from 2 sets down has to be the biggest shock of the tournament bar Berdych losing. That is a phenomenal win for him and so disappointing for Almagro and fatheads everywhere.
What's wrong with Sam Querrey? He won a match at a Slam.
I am more than a bit surprised to see Ljubicic d. Devvarman on clay, too.
Oh, and I see Querrey and Ljubicic meet in the next round in a match of perennial Slam underperformers. Someone must win!
I know nobody is picking him but methinks A. Murray is a darkhorse for this title. He can beat anybody on any surface when he isn't crazy/tanking. I'd like to see a match between him and Dolgopolov come off in round 4. So much variety will come into play and Alexandr won't be overawed like in Australia.
Melzer, with Almagro's untimely death, now has no reason to fall short of the quarters. And I guess he has a ghost of chance at the semis again.

Women's side! The French got a good win from Caroline Garcia, who is but 17.5. I much prefer her in the second round than Zuzana Ondraskova. She'll probably get some Center Court time for her next match with Sharapova. Petkovic came through Bojana nicely. Next, Hradecka who had a good win over Sevastova. The winner plays AMG-Gajdosova which hopefully is the dirtballing Spaniard ... right? Kim seemed okay in round 1. I'd put her chances of winning the title at about 10%, though. She is bound to have a bad day and lose. The Guardian informed me that Watson and Baltacha winning matches at RG marks the first time in 17 years a British lady has claimed a main draw singles match there. I don't know what to say about Ivanovic losing, other than she probably feared the Mak in round 2 so she figured she'd better get over it and take her L a round earlier. Someone please tell V. Azarenka to turn it up a bit. Six games lost to the likes of Hlavackova is much too much. She'd best beat Parmentier to the loss of four or fewer.

That is a phenomenal win for him and so disappointing for Almagro and fatheads everywhere. Wow! I never checked the final result of this and assumed that Almagro won. That is definitely a fun result. And how about seeing Arnaud Clement in r2 for a back-in-the-day result. I'm so happy for old Naud! All we need is Grosjean, then we'd really be back in the Capriati Years.

Yeah, they showed the end of the Almagro match so I saw Kubot win - didn't process how much of a shocker it was because it was mid-Nadal/Isner.
Maybe it's because I only tuned into Rafa's match at the end of the third set - and from there to the end, it was pretty much the exact match I'd expected to see - but I don't think it's that much of a warning sign. I attribute it more to Isner's freakshow game, which can take anyone like that.
Ljubo is a former SFist here!
I did notice how Caroline Garcia really lucked out at both the AO and here, after WCing into both. Beat Lepchenko at the AO, one of the worst players in the top 100. And Ondraskova has won one match all year (over a US bumpkin).
Hadn't noticed how rough Petkorazzi's draw is. Jovanovski is a tough opener, and Hradecka's been having a stellar year. Then ex-Groth or resurgent AMG!
I have a theory that St Kim's attitude and play is indicative of a paranoia that she'll get injured on clay...

Yep, Ljubicic made the semis at the French once. Quarters of the AO that same year, I believe. And that's it. Forever. His only good Slams. For a guy ranked #3 in the world at one time his career Slam performance is utterly horrible.
