Here's a depressing result: Frenchman Josselin Ouanna, whom Brinyi will remember as a member of the Tsonga/Monfils/Montcourt group, lost to an IRISH player. Yes I said IRISH! Bad, bad loss for poor Ouanna, the black sheep of his class.

Ouanna has done little but blow as a pro, sad to say. Polansky made his match with the Dutch giant Schoorel closer than I expected, but lost. Dancin' Frank won easily. Grega Zemlja(SLO) def. Dustin Brown(GER)[7] 6-4 3-6 8-6 but good for Slovenia. Bastian Knittel(GER) def. Alex Bogdanovic(GBR) 7-6(9) 6-3

Another easy win for Frank, 1 & 4 over Danai. "Dave" Stebe, who has been rampant at the Challenger level, is through to the qualifying round. He could perhaps spring an upset against a weak 1R main draw opponent. Harrison also won his match, 3 & 3 over one of the Rockettes. /me squints. Sorry, that would be Laurent Rochette. Go! won again. V.Pospisil looks like he might be in too deep vs ERV. Allez Kenny De Schepper! He leads Ebden 76.

I meant Wimbledon! It's dumb. Williamses and Samprases win it all the time. Move it to Guantanamo.

Also, Niland is in. But have we all forgotten the Irishman who qualified for AO a couple of years ago -- and won a round or two, IIRC? I certainly have forgotten his name. That's why I can't get too excited about this. Fame is fleeting in sports if you can't back performances up.
