So Li Na is the loser in the Lisicki sweepstakes.

Yup, too bad for her. Bepa the big loser though. Stupid Penis. And Riske first round, that makes me cry Alison could have used 100 points. She still might get them, breaking my heart in the process.

Vee might have to play JJ in the first week, though. That could go well. I know I shouldn't rule her out, but Hanturexia dominated her in Eastbourne outside of 2nd set choking.
The negative is that a Ree-Scream SF is like a certainty. UGH.

I know everyone has the dread spectre of AO '07 in mind when thinking about Silliams, but really - her serve and power are shadows of what they were, and rain in the first week will play havoc with her stamina. Venus was awesome against BAG but that was BAG, and as Leena notes Jankovic has always been a troublesome match-up for her.
The right Q could come through in the Schiavone/Petkovic sections (or...Morita? Paszek? Makarova?) and in Bepa's.
Wozniacki d. Cibulkova Sharapova d. Peng Lisicki d. Radwanska Bartoli d. S.Williams Schiavone d. Petkovic Hantuchova d. Errani Kvitova d. Kuznetsova Jankovic d. Vesnina
Sharapova d. Wozniacki Bartoli d. Lisicki Hantuchova d. Schiavone Kvitova d. Jankovic
Sharapova d. Bartoli Kvitova d. Hantuchova
Kvitova d. Sharapova

Haha I would like to note that I did those prior to looking at Hurley's! We have consensus! On a Hanturexia run

Hmm. The apparent consensus that Lisicki will beat Li is making me want to back away from it. It's a 50-50 match, not a NID one.
Consensus that Dokic will beat Fran is just bizarre.

There's consensus that Dokic will take out Fran? I don't think so. She's pretty even with Fran on grass, game-wise, but she lacks stamina, as shown today in her Holland final. And since I don't see her crushing Fran in straight sets, stamina will come into it.

Consensus on the World, which, yeah, dumb. I mostly agree with you except I think Dokic has rather less than a 50-50 shot. Only saw bits of the 's's's's=-GHertoggggggwhatever final but she wasn't dealing with the Lesser Fran all that convincingly.
God, 16 years of following tennis and I don't think I've ever typed 's-Hertogenbosch correctly on first attempt. Can we please move that tournament already.

I don't get the Dokic love. She only wins challenger matches now. And it's not like Fran is terrible on grass. May have to bet on that one.

I don't get the Dokic love. She only wins challenger matches now. It's because she reached the final this week in Rosmalen (thanks, Hurley), and showed pretty good grass-court form in her matches there. But it's also because of her long-ago Wimbledon SF, additional QF there (unlike Lucic, Stevenson, Pornikova, and many other semifinalists who subsequently dropped off the Wimby map), and I think a title at Birmingham. And because the H-to-H is 3-0 Dokic, which is ridiculously non-relevant considering 2 of those matches were ages ago, and in this year's match, Franny was injured.

I don't normally do this, but my QFs were the same as lexs, except I dunno who Anatoxva or Petra will beat, and also I would expect Sharapova to win that final. But then I don't expect Sharapova to win, which is why I don't normally do this.

Also replace Lisicki with Li Na Li. Forgot that.

Dokic didn't beat anyone in s'Hertogenbosch above challenger level, except Pennetta who blows now. Anything pre-Bovina ending Dokic's career needs to be thrown out the window.

The only consensus is that this tournament is wide-open.
I had thought that there's no way Wozniacki is reaching the semis. But now that I see so many people evidently feel the same way it makes me wonder. Nobody's picking her so that should help.
A Venus-Jankovic match is one of the few times I will be cheering for Venus.
I am not feeling Azarenka's chances are too high. Hantuchova is the form player there ... an upset? Fran downed Dokic but ... she can be beaten. McHale in round 3? Paszek off her deathbed? Suddenly Strycova? Will it all benefit Petko? I think it just might. Maybe spare a thought for Pav in that area.
I don't see it happening for Li here. Too soon after the French.
Serena might lose to Bojana. And she'll need to be careful with Rezai even though Aravane can't beat anyone lately. Can Bartoli beat her? Maybe. Will Serena win the title saving 38952 matchpoints? Most likely.
Since it could be about 15 girls and it makes no sense to pick her I shall do so. Vera is going to win!

Alex got CAKE-Silliams and CAKE-Lisicki right, except for cake's exhaustion which no one could account for. That quarter really.

CAKE's exhaustion should have been predictable, actually. Eastbourne title + beating Serena.
I also got Neither Vera Nor Venus!
I'm mostly proud of getting 11/16 4th-rounders in the men's draw.

CAKE's exhaustion should have been predictable, actually. Eastbourne title + beating Serena. More than that, it was the DRAMA!!!1111 with LDL and Penetta that stunned us all. But I suppose you can't have your CAKE and eat it too.
