Schiavone beat Paszek 10-8 in the third set three years ago at Wimbledon. And she will probably do that again right here.

They're still out there? I just came in from outside. While I was out there my mom left me a phone message, very excited about Serena: "I guess no one expected her to be in the tournament this long!" So glad I didn't answer the phone because it wouldn't be nice to grouse at my 87-year-old mom.

Well my Dad sometimes watches a match or 2 featuring Russians and then telling me results after a taped match, but that's it. I remember back in the day my Dad even tried to root for a Russian when she played Justine, just to meet my argument of: "What's more important to you - some Sharapova winning a match or your daughter's happiness!" *dramatic pause* So yeah, in the end it was JH FTW for the whole family!

Paszek takes it 11-9 on her first MP. She looks absolutely overjoyed to have finally won one of these epics. Maybe a career turnaround point for her?

Congrats to Tamira, finally she won one of those! I wish that would be a push for her to get better, but I doubt it's gonna happen.

She might not need to get better to have better results, with the SEWTA collapsing. For example, only Ksenia Pervak stands between her and the Wimbledon quarters.

That worked out well, then! It's not working out that way for me. My mom was on the edge of her seat during that big ED-Serena Wimby SF. She did not understand my view that the ending was foreordained because this one was *SERENA* while that one was, you know, *ED*. You can see she has no understanding of women's tennis at all! But when I do talk to her I'm going to force myself to sound amazed and so happy that Serena, after a whole year off, somehow managed to get past Maria Kirilenko.

Baghdatis managed to hold his serve 3 consecutive times vs Djokovic, that's already an achievement.

Only FIVE of the Top 16 ranked women made the second week, and none of them have to play each other (though Serena got a top seeding and must play #9 Bartoli).
(1) Wozniacki (5) Sharapova (9) Bartoli (4) Azarenka (8) Kvitova

Solid win for Wozniacki over Gajdosova.
Tomic ... is going to beat Soderling? Looks like it, doesn't it.
Serena losing just five games against Kirilenko is a BAD SIGN that I DO NOT LIKE.
I've lost faith that Bartoli might beat her, too. Going to 9-7 in the third with current Pennetta is not a good result.
Oh, Paszek won! Good for her! And it won't feel like a long hard draining match since it went over two days and she gets a day off tomorrow.
Nice follow-up win for Lisicki. No letdown.
Ivanovic? Really? What the fuck? Honestly. I want credit for this. I posted the other day about the potential for her to fuck up this draw opening. I knew she would!
Cetkovska is in the fourth round. Good. Lord.

Baghdatis is making believe like he might win a set. I absolutely do not believe it.
Youzhny about to beat Almagro for a spot against Fed.
Llodra destroying Lu, to Janie's delight.
