I think I'll root for Serena. I want her to either:
A) Destroy Caro, like Venus did to Safina at Wimbledon '09. B) Lose to Caro.
No bullshit 6-3, 6-3 win in the SF or something.

I lasted one game of Wozniacki/King. It comprised several excellent King points and nothing worthy of note by Wozniacki, lasted about a year and Wozniacki won it. She grinds down audiences as well as opponents.
Guh, moving house tomorrow, nothing is packed. Somehow have to write 1600 words before then too. I fear my US Open viewing today will be limited.

My guys on 2 different feeds called her "Shippers", as in FedEx. Nice fight, Fran. And the crowd loves her, contrary to the WTA view that tennis fans only adore the tall, blond, and glamrous.

I thought Sheppers was correct. Isn't that how you would pronounce it if she was English, or Dutch, which is how the name sounds to me? That would make it more understandable than pronouncing it the Italian way as they do with Schiavone.

I liked Jeepers, though. Her game, I mean. She doesn't have any obvious shortcomings in her game and with her serve, even if not powerful at all, she's aiming at lines and not just trying to put it harmlessly in the service box a la Errani or Niculescu yesterday.
