I remember how well Lindsay was playing, especially in 2004-05. She was dominating the tour.
Wimbly 2004, Lindsay controlled the match until rain came and it all fell apart. I remember us bitching up a storm when she was laughing during the 3rd set. Time has been kinder to that match, though. Ma$ha did get on fire late in that match, and we know the Serena destruction in the final.
I'll also throw in the 04 AO loss to Justine. Was that the one where there were like 2 holds the entire match? The 03 loss to Justine was funny too, with Lindsay calling Justine a cheater.
I'll also throw in the 03 USO debacle to Kim. That was embarrassing. Kim really had her number.
AO and RG 05, I think she had injuries for both of them. She probably shouldn't have made the Aussie final. I do remember that KFC match, I thought Lindsay had no chance in hell and she played out of her mind in the latter parts.
Wimbly 05 was the worst. No excuse. Lindsay was the absolute worst with being terrified of the Sistahz.
Bottom line is that Lindsay should have carried SEWTA through the rough times of 2004-2006. And she failed miserably.

I think being self-employed is the best way of being. You just have to find the thing to be self-employed at that works. Making your own hours, decisions and profit seems pretty good to me. It is! Apart from those fallow periods where you're not entirely sure how you're going to make rent that month. As I was saying in the pub last night, either you're stressed the fuck out because you have too much work or you're stressed the fuck out because you have too little. I'm...not good with the 9-5 office lifestyle, even if I enjoy the work, so it's still best for me. Hopefully it leads to a place beyond financial insecurity at some point in my life! I will cop to re-reading Cult archives, but mostly when I have an article to write and I'm procrastinating. I'm in an office this week, so not right now. Anonymity on the internet really has changed so much...when I first got online, like, a decade ago, the default assumption was that you didn't know who people were, and you hid your own identity. Now, it's the other way round. I basically don't interact with people if I don't know who they are. Even if I don't know their government names, there still has to be a consistent identity that's connected to other people I know. Facebook was probably what changed everything. I enjoyed all of Lindsay's mid-00s failures at the time

I too re-read Cult archives. Mostly fun times at Slams - it's hilarious going through all the posts. And I thought I was the only one who loved Lindsay's failures.

I think I was going to express disappointment that I hadn't contributed to any of these funny old threads. I'm sure I've said funny things. They might have been sarcastic or vulgar, too. Here is a test for sjengster or anyone else whos interested. www.guardian.co.uk/books/quiz/2011/jun/02/naipaul-test-author-s-sex-quiz I got 7/10, which I feel is inconclusive.

Also, they could have put a roof over that stadium if they hadn't made it so ludicrously big.

Well ... when you are wasting your youth on messageboards, you will argue about Molik's WC and Henin and other irrelevant stuff, as an outlet for your emotions that have no other place to go.
I don't care enough now to argue on the internet which is a good thing. Although it was the best fun I had within my little universe at that time.
We have discussed Lindsay's failures many times. But Venus is old and sucking now so who cares.

I was just thinking the other day how much the Internet has changed. I started using it some time in the late 90s and back then people used it to chat with people from across the world. You'd talk to someone from, like Bolivia and the Philippines. Now people chat with those who live next door.

I remember the days when I used to chat with tons of folks on various messengers. Now, I don't talk to anyone, and just post random shit.

ICQ was the first messenger I used. Seems like a lifetime ago!
I remember that during the NATO bombing in 1999 we were given free unlimited Internet access so that we could "spread the truth". Looking back to those days, I'm amazed how bizarre everything was and yet it seemed so normal.

I got 3 as well! Although I assumed that those are tricky questions, so often chose the opposite of what my 1st thought was. I'm suspicious that way.

I have Skype for the rest of the world.

I read this thread this morning and had a few laughs, but little did I know that all day long, this bit would keep coming back to me over and over and bringing more laughs: Jun 1, 2006, 6:24pm, JesusFedResurrection wrote: And I cannot emphasize enough how much I liked that dropshot from Yakimova. No, really! She immediately became a new fave. AND THEN URLI KEPT HATING ON HER.Because for anyone to fight about Yakimova, of all people! is so hilarious. I want to see a fight about Bychkova next!
