Wish I were more excited about this final, but a couple of their matches this year pretty much put me to sleep. It could be great, though.

I do care, because I'm rooting for Nole, and because a lot of the tennis they've played this year has been amazing, but tbh I'm kind of exhausted (of Slam tennis, and also generally), and I have 1500 words to write tonight, and I think I've come down with a cold. I'll probably watch it in the background.

In addition to the previous reasons I've mentioned, it doesn't help that I've seen the Big 3 + Muzza play 123142 times against each other.
Nor does the stupid f'ing Monday match for the 4th time. I hate you, USTA.

I had 3 hours of sleep last night, I doubt I will last til the end. Even if Rafa fails miserably, the amount they both spend between the points will prolong this match considerably.
Just don't embarrass yourself, Rafa!

Rafa won a coin and elected to serve? New tactics!!

Looks like it's going to be a great atmosphere there, despite being a Monday afternoon match with persumably fewer noisy drunks in it!

Oh, tough hold for Rafa, in which Rafa actually hit a backhand winner!

Rafa breaks!!!
His tactics seem to be not to give any rhythm to Novak, he mixes his shots up all the time.

And an early break for Rafa!

Both of them can't get a 1st serve in. Very shorts balls from Rafa and 0-30

1 1st serve in this game from Rafa, 1. Sad.

Rafa send a forehand long and Novak breaks on his 3rd break point. At least Rafa went for it.

Oh, Rafa, Novak gives you 2 unforced errors, then 2 break points and still it's deuce? Novak got his 1st serve back, so yeah, at least that goes for him.

That was a very nice volley, Rafa. Followed by Novak's Ace. It seems like the longer Novak bounces the ball, the more chance he puts his 1st serve in.

The wind is probably really strong right now. Rafa is struggling to hit through it, and both of them are hitting some weird shots. Break point for Novak Oh, Rafa

Rafa, your backhand needs to clear the service line. Thanks.

Rafa can't even hit a passing shot right now, there's no hope for him.

I plan on tuning in to this match after I watch an hour of Breaking Bad. They'll be part way through the second set at this point, perhaps?

I plan on tuning in to this match after I watch an hour of Breaking Bad. They'll be part way through the second set at this point, perhaps? Nah, I don't see why Novak would bounce that ball a million times when he's won 10 games in a raw. Rafa is 0-40 for the 2nd time in this set. And Novak hit 2 drop shot winners in this one.

It's almost like you know Rafa will be the one to crumble on the big points. And his BH is coping horribly with Novak constantly attacking it.

Rafa peaked slightly too early, in the first 2 games. Has no answers now. Please at least try to hit the ball deepish to give yourself a chance!

Boy, at 5-3 40-15 on Saturday it looked like it would be just another year.
Now it truly will be one of The Greatest Years in the History of Tennis.
Sorry, Joana!
