Allez. Ivy (might as well) NaNa Del Pony Allez
Hope Bernie-Jesus match is great, should be a nice palette cleanser after the morning shitfests. A-Rad should handle gorgeous pretty easily, as Rafa will handle FLo

I've been trying to ignore the presence of Kim and Silliams in the hope they would disappear, but that might have to end tonight. If either of them makes the final I'm going to cry.

On the bright side, this is the first time in a while that the main contenders are clearly separating themselves from the field. Less messing around. Like in the old days.
But the winner of Kimmeke-SJW will win ti all.

I agree. It does feel like the old days. Only a handful of top seeds out early, and the ones who are winning are just powering through.
Too bad I hate them all these days.

Yeah, same here. Kind of takes the fun out of it when you wish they'd ALL lose. Except for Li Na, of course.

I'm in a real lull with my tennis fandom. Other than Petra, I can't stand any of slam threats. It's not just rooting against them like I would with Ree, JenFat and Seles back in the day. I don't want to watch Mashabot, Vuvuzela, recent stupid Serena and Kim, at all. They're awful bitches.
And this is the first slam that I've really grown stale with the Big 4 on the men's side. It's been like this for 5 years now with brief Del Pony/King Kolya interference. Why even bother with the first 10 days, and then it's watching the same reruns for the 100th time. They're really good, but who cares anymore. It doesn't help that the "stories" of this slam are Hewitt and Tomic, either.

Ugh, Julia. Thankfully I didn't see any of it. She should take the positives out of this tournament, she had an awful preparation and made the best of an easy draw.

This match is so refreshing from an aural perspective. Just the dulcet sounds of clean hitting.
edit: and of course ErrorNa decides to make an appearance now. 4 wild shots in a row.
edit edit: and now lost 3 games in a row. Being a set and a break up in a big match seems to guarantee collapse for most SEWTA players.
Simon Reed knows nothing about anything.

Radwanska v. Azarenka was a very good match in Sydney the other week. I don't think it'll disappoint this time either. I'm not at all sure what outcome we will get, either.
Li looks to me like she's going to win this breaker.

LOL if Ste. Nicesters comes back from this...
Meryl Streep should play her in a biopic to finally win that third oscar. The academy loves stories like this.

I don't know how Kim avoided serious injury. But, she was serving fine on the ankle right away.
Meanwhile, I'm watching Khromacheva in juniors. She's similar to Robson, but shorter. Nice lefty serve, good strokes, big backhand... and slow as shit, which I assume is why she's been #1 in juniors for the last 2 years.

Woz could totally bullshit her way to the final now. Put away a useless JJ, get a w/o over Ste. Nicesters of Bree and then beat A-Rad or Azza.
I hope Serena destroys her in the final.

Noooooooooo Na My first big match of the tournament that mattered and it turns out like this. The winner of that was so making the final. A-Rad slaughtering Gorgeous is a positive, though. I'm feeling more optimistic about SEWTA than I have in a while, actually. Largely thanks to Petra, I guess. While I wouldn't tune in to a Ma$ha/Saint/Silliams match unless they were playing another decent player that I like, in those situations I can watch them. Azza is a different matter. I need her to go the Vaidisova route really quickly.

That might put the deep freeze on Li's career for another six months. The Dropshot!
I agree with whoever said this opens the door for Wozniacki. I did pick her to come through this quarter by hook or crook. Maybe it will happen.
Kim pulling off that match is truly an awesome achievement, though. Like her or not, you must give her credit for that.
Once again regarding Li, I think she lost a match almost exactly like this to Wickmayer in .... Dubai ... I think, last year. Up 6-2 in the breaker, lost in three.
